Anyone skip the step of installing the upper pop rivets? There's no way a drill is going to fit up in there without taking every single thing back apart. I'm not sure why they are even needed. Long before you get to this step they have you bounding up and down to stretch the arms so it clears the pinch weld. The steps are plenty sturdy front to back. This step seems unnecessary and unworth the hours of potential BS to get these things in.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

I have the steps installed on my 2013 and 2020, I did the install myself, and didn't install the rivets. My 13 has had the steps installed for about the last 150k or so, no problems.

Good feedback, mang. Thanks!

I installed my own on my 2019. If you get two people at 200 pounds per person stepping out at the same time you may have a problem if you do not install the upper rivets. I have a Milwaukee angle drill worked great.

I'll make sure to keep the fat chicks out while I source another tool

I skipped them on mine. My right angle drill broke so I said F it. It holds my fat ass just fine.
