Did you connect the power and ground wire? Just installed mine last week with no issues.

AlphaRex LED headlights and tail lights

No programming needed. They are just powered by a fuse that applies power when the ignition is in run. Are you saying that they are on when the engine is on, but go out when you put it in drive? That would make no sense.
I have a 2018 Ram 1500 HEMI; I was in a front-end minor wreck when a kid was texting and driving and ran a red light. I messed up my front light and front bumper. I decided it was time to upgrade so I went with Alpharex headlights and Morimoto taillights. They looked nice but it was throwing codes on my truck's dashboard, and they were hyper flashing. I called Alpharex, at first they sent out resistors for me but they did nothing. Then they told me last ditch effort was to reprogram my truck's ECU to accept led lights. So I bought a ALFA-OBD software, ECRI Security bypass module, and I paid an auto body shop to remove the radio and install the chip for me because I wasn't comfortable doing it myself. He also added my Body Guard bumper and did all my paint work. I got a chance to play with the ALFAOBD software and changed up my settings to accept led lights all around and everything worked. My Alpharex headlights started working properly, at first they wouldn't do the start up light sequence but after program they do it everytime. The blinkers would hyperflash and dash would say blinker out. That is working and no more codes. I made a video for anyone wanting to try it out for themselves.
