I think you have the connectors in the wrong blocks. Based on the Kaodtech install pdf, the single row CAN block is identified as '2' on step 3 of the pdf and the double block is '1' on the pdf.

Then in step 4 says for RAM 2500/3500, if your bypass has 1 white/1 black connector, the white connector goes to CAN block 1 (double row) and the black goes into CAN block 2 (single row).

Yep! I think you are correct. I was reading that wrong. Thank you for replying.
 
Sure! The document is maybe a touch out of date (at least for coloring)? Page 3 says CAN block one is "black and green" but from your pic it's definitely all green (it's all green on the install pdf too!), and CAN block 2 is either white and green or all white but that's clearly all green as well. Clear as mud!

I don't know how I misread this now that you pointed it out, but the way I was reading it, the white connector goes with the green/white can block and the black connector goes to green/black can block. Made perfect sense in my head at the time LOL! I will give it another try after work tonight.

Describing the CANBUS blocks by the color of their plastic is not super useful, since they are neither white nor black in the 2024+ trucks (maybe earlier, dunno). Additionally, while the white connector with the yellow and blue wires is still there, the other connector is now black and is green and pink. So just enough has changed since that post to make it confusing or counterproductive when compared against the Kaodtech install guide.

Also, still chilly here in NH, tried to get mine installed this afternoon and i'm not sure how i'm going to get my hands in there. The headlight switch doesn't really seem very mobile either, but that definitely wasn't helped by the temp and didn't want to pry too hard. Guess this will wait for a few more weeks.

Which is why there is a PIC showing the canbus blocks that are behind the headlight switch.
 
Right, and my point is that the picture doesn't match the directions directly above it, nor does it match the current state of the Kaodtech bypass cable. *shrug*

I was able to get to mine without removing the switch. I struggled to unplug them once I realized it wasn't working, but it is possible to do.

The picture does match the directions. It also includes the description of what each block is (CAN-C, CAN-IHS) and their location is clear.

Can't help it if KAOdTECH changes the block colors and farks up the instructions. The pink/white has never changed. One wire color changed on the other connector. He's also been color coding each line with white or black to match the block base color.

If someone can't figure it out from the info provided, and correlate the location of CAN-C and CAN-IHS from the "old" pic and description, maybe they shouldn't be plugging cables into their truck.

Are you way up north? Down here around Concord it was 50's yesterday, will be 60 today. Snow is rapidly melting.
 
Haha - nope, only about 25 minutes north of Concord, but by the time I got my window to start working on it, my truck had been back in the shade for a while, so everything was chilly again. May give it another run after work today. The three honks and tire fill notifications are driving me crazy!
 
Happy to report that the bypass worked once I plugged the connectors in as Fantastipotamus described, despite Brutal's condescending remark about maybe not plugging cables into my truck...
I was able to change the tpms thresholds, tow mirror reverse lights, and the gear indicator. I'll get to the other features later, but the tpms was my priority so glad that is handled.

Yes I get that, despite warm and sunny middle of the afternoon, it still chills down quick once the sun goes down. Hopefully you are able to get it sorted out soon.

Please show me where these are different on 2024 than prior years.

BLACK base is CAN-C (dual row)
WHITE base is CAN-IHS (single row)

The connector blocks have always been green, if that's what you're referring to. The details provided are clear that the BASE color is the reference and that hasn't changed.

To pacify the pedantic among us, self included, I added the detail describing the location (dash/firewall) and the row count.

To be clear, THIS pic below shows the incorrect installation (that has since been corrected by the member).

Stay warm, or cool, or frosty as your location warrants. I'll stay salty.

Indeed - this was what i was mistakenly referring to, not sure how i missed the "base" piece of it.

Edit: i see part of what was confusing me - the Kaodtech directions show the connectors as white and green, not both green.

Yea, he keeps using old sh*t in his docs that's confusing everyone with a 19+.

Didn't mean to be sh*tty with everyone, just get a little twisted up when my efforts/work posted here for the benefit of others are unfairly (IMHO) criticized.

I would like to personally thank you for your effort here. I've owned Rams for the last 25 years and this is the first time jumping on a Ram forum. You provide a lot of good info to the members as well as the google searching crowd.

It certainly got me a bit (plus my inability to read gud). Apologies here as well, didn't actually realize that was your 1st post editing work I was criticizing. I think your most recent update removes any potential ambiguity.

Got my TPMS and unintended idle adjustments made last night. Easy to insert, far more difficult to get those little buggers back out. I didn't pull the kickplate initially, as I didn't need to to insert them, but boy, could not get them back out until i removed it and could get both my hands in there.
