AlfaOBD

I also tried enabling and setting the x times to run and it never worked.

I think @Jimmy was going to do some more checking after getting dumps from the newer trucks and working with Alex @ AlfaOBD but I'm sure it's a low priority issue for everyone.

I've also pretty much given up on hill descent ever working on my 3500 air ride truck.

Yea, at the moment, priority 1 seems to be figuring out the Uconnect 5 retrofit. I just got my module today, and Jimmy is sending me up a harness to test out. Hopefully I'll be able to make some positive progress on that tomorrow after work.

Has anyone run across any settings that would allow the heating/AC to start with the last known settings when remote starting the truck?
No setting but mine does it. Even turns on the cooled seat if it's too hot. Will turn on the seat heater and heated steering wheel if it's too cold. Info is in the owners manual.

Yes, but it doesn't turn on the full HVAC until you open the drivers door. Before you do that it's only running the defrost vents.

The few times its turned on the heat, I beleive it turned on the heater.
For AC, it turns on the AC and set the drivers seat to low AC. Does it all the time when I remote start.
Next time it gets cold, I'll see exactly what it turns on when I remote start it. But that may be awhile. I'm in SoCal. ;)

Sorry to hear that haha. (I lived in Irvine for 20 years. Left about 2 years ago).

Lucky you.

I've been sentenced to SoCal a couple too many times this year and am there now.

I'm beginning to loathe flying into John Wayne, mostly due to the rental car march of death, but I suppose it's better than LAX.

Left SoCal (Torrance) 13 years ago. Best decision ever. Can you catch a flight to/from Long Beach? Used to do early morning flight up to Seattle from there on JetBlue. Was really quick back then.

Maybe at one time you could, but UA has dropped so many regionals, and to think I used to bitch about having to fly a regional 4 hours, and are stuffing the larger aircraft to the gills and EVERYBODY has status now so upgrades are few and far between. Can't get a flight (or typically can't fly nonstop) Denver to LGB. Palm Springs is too far from where I usually need to be and usually too much $$$. Unfortunately with coming into anywhere in a 40 miles radius of SNA it's the best worst option. I also fly into Ontario on occasion.

We had a guy out here is SoCal but he got riffed almost 2 years ago now, and had another retire this past summer, so I have to pick up the slack for most of the west and pacific. I have one other peer coworker based in SLC, we tend to share the HI and Guam accounts.

Uh, no LGB posts per forum rules, mr moderator :p

What about Burbank? Any flights into there?
I got stationed in San Diego for 12 years. Then transferred up to Ventura. Been up here for going on 25 years now. When I retire again in a couple of years, plan is to leave the state. Still working on convincing the Boss. She's a Cali girl so hard to take her away from here.

Could someone with front and rear park assist post up (or PM me) and copy of the system ID and system status of their parktronics module?

I'm happy to help. But, I need some assistance with the How To. I've got AlfaOBD and MX+. Where do I need to look?

Thanks. Are you using the Android version?

Easiest way to share the log is via google drive, which is free if you need to sign up before you upload the log.

Start in AlfaOBD by clicking the settings at the top. Then scroll down and check the box for “do not verify ECU model”. You can come back and uncheck it when you’re done.

Main screen, connect to the interface. Select Ram 3500 > select function- parking > select control unit- parktronics module MY2014-2017. Next screen- connect. If message pops up can not verify ECU, just click continue/ok. Click battery icon in the lower right. Next screen- select “read system ID” and let it fully populate (about a minute), then select “read system status” and let it fully populate.

Click tools icon up top > upload to google drive > sign in > upload faults and status log > PTS_PN_Info. The log will then upload.

Now, in order to share that log, go to google drive. Click the three vertical dots next to that PTS_PN log > share > who has access > restricted/change > anyone with link > back to the three dots by the log > copy link > paste it here.

Thanks for the clear instructions. I PM'd you the link.

I discovered I had an issue accessing WiFi, which affected sharing because of the Wireless Android connection. Once I turned.that off, I could log in to Google drive.

Noob here. I apparently didn't read enough before diving into this. Got the security gateway installed, connected the obdlink mx, opened alfa and clicked this.....immediately got some error messages on the dash of the truck and it says blind spot and power running board fault. Now the running boards aren't working. It is painfully obvious I have no idea what I am doing. Please help me unbreak my truck.

If one of the experienced members here could help me, I will gladly venmo you for your time.

I feel like I may be at a disadvantage using the Windows version from my laptop. I don't have an android device.

Appreciate all your help Jimmy! Everything is working as it should.

Anything specific you guys did?

Also, make sure you update the firmware on the MX+. Mine was making the truck act weird (early Christmas lights) on occasion and doing the update seems to have so far fixed that.

Bypass connectors were reversed. The IHS bus threw a little fit about that.
We used teamviewer so I could give hive a visual rundown on using the windows version.
