AlfaOBD

I just tried also, as I kept forgetting about this until you brought it up today. I get the same thing as you. It’s definitely the calibration fault keeping the center line from showing up. When connected to the CVPM, I can run 8502 in the manual request section, which suppresses all faults in the CVPM during the diagnostic session, and the center line and adjustment soft key immediately shows up. I’ll send off the debug log.

When I send the debug log, I’ll ask him about this, along with some other requests, such as adding the ability to enable pin F37 on the BCM for the trailer hitch light.

How do you force the run? I'm in manual connect but I'm not really getting anywhere.

It’s a little finicky- connect to CVPM. Send the 8502 command twice. You might have to disconnect and reconnect to the CVPM quickly and send the command a few more times.
Another way you can briefly see the center line show up is have the truck on with the cargo cam screen on. Connect to the CVPM and clear the faults. There will be a moment right after the fault is cleared that the center line will show up before the fault sets again.

I'm considering trying to force a full recalibration of all cameras, but i'm afraid if it hits the CHMSL camera and fails, I'll lose the whole surround view until the CHMSL camera can be calibrated.

Hill Descent
Doesn't appear to work, button flashes EVIC message then shows disabled
Have tested on +20° ramp but nothing steeper
I expected the button LED would stay lit if if it isn't engaged/active
Three presses and it stops responding
So does the hill decent work differently on the 3500 and diesels than the gas PW?

On my PW, to get into hill decent, you have to be in 4 low for it to work. It does not work in any other mode. States so in the owners manual.

Or is this something different from outside of that?

I got impatient and tried to force recalibrate the whole system. It did the surround view just fine, still no joy on the CHMSL. Let me know when you hear back on the Debug log. Thanks.

Works no different if it works.

4 lo big hill ... no go.

Technical question...

Does anyone have wiring diagrams or pin locations on the OBDII port for both security bypasses? I can't remember which one I have already done for CAN C or CAN IHS but I already have the bypass in place for pin 6 and pin 14 on the OBDII port. Plugged into the 5th connection port on the star connector closest to and above the parking brake.

Or a better question - is that the only bypass needed for AlphaOBD to work or do you need both? Planning on making the plunge since my warrantee already went out the window.

These questions come from looking at the KAOdTECh bypass and figured I could get another cable and do it myself for less than $55 if both are needed.

I bought a new laptop. Anyone know if I can transfer my alfaobd license to the new PC?

Email them. They will transfer it.

I believe he made it easier in recent updates. Click the about tab, click the purchase/activate from paddle.com tab. Copy the license. Then click deactivate. Set up on the new computer and activate that same license.

I did email him a few days ago, but no response.

Thanks @Jimmy07, I'll try that.

Has anyone run across any settings that would allow the heating/AC to start with the last known settings when remote starting the truck?

I feel like this question has been covered before and maybe I missed the final answer. I noticed the other day on my 5500 delivery truck the DPF menu has a "|> Regen" I guess to manually force a Regen. Can this be enabled on the 2500 & 3500?

No.

Enabling it makes an option show up in the EVIC, but it doesn't do anything.

Long ago a member claimed his dealer tech buddy was going to do it for him when he got his 2020 3500 DRW, but turned out he couldn't as well.

Would you happen to know if this was answered in this thread or in a different thread? I'm searching for what values were found and modified, but no joy. Also don't know if a data dump from a 5500 would help possibly figure out what else might need to be changed to make it work.

Also, different topic, way back, when they introduced the trailer light check feature in the 2021's I tried to enable it on my truck, but it didn't work, and now I'm questioning, does it not work because the BCM doesn't support it? or does it not work because the display cluster hardware/firmware doesn't support it.

I also tried enabling and setting the x times to run and it never worked.

I think @Jimmy was going to do some more checking after getting dumps from the newer trucks and working with Alex @ AlfaOBD but I'm sure it's a low priority issue for everyone.

I've also pretty much given up on hill descent ever working on my 3500 air ride truck.
