Looking at a 3500 cab and chassis, 6.4 L gas with AS66RC Transmission, is anyone aware of any problems with this transmission, do they have the same current problems as the AS69RC Losing first through fourth gear at very low mileage. Thank you in advance

If it is a 2022 or 2023 model year truck, then the answer would be yes, both the AS69RC (diesel) and AS66RC (gas) transmissions are specifically mentioned on TSB 21-002-23 regarding the K1 Clutch Hub Snap Ring failure. This means that transmission could have the problem, but it is not necessarily a guarantee that it will fail. As of yet, there has been no release of information that would give us the ability to positively identify which trucks & transmissions are specifically flawed. It would be nice if we had a list of affected serial numbers or VIN’s, but so far that hasn’t happened. All we know is, if it’s a 22 or 23, it could potentially fail. 781AB663-8E18-4A5C-BCEE-AFCCCC58ADC7.jpeg

Thank you for your quick reply, I was to pick up a 2023 4500 last Monday and I passed up after reading the problems with the Aisin transmission. I then went to my local ram dealer who I do business with often, and ordered a 2023 4500. They estimate a 3 to 6 month wait on that build. In the meantime, to get by, I found a 2022 3500 To use until the 4500 arrives but this may have the same problems. I currently have a 2012 5500 with 70,000 miles with def problems that will cost thousands to repair And some of the parts have become unavailable. Is anyone aware of a company that can (FIX) The def problems on my 2012 5500 cab and chassis. Please feel free to private message me if that works better. I am trying to run a business and I am a super loyal ram customer, but they have put me in a box!. Thank you

No problem. Sorry I can’t give you better info on the transmission issue but that’s all we, the public have been given.

What is wrong with the DEF system on your 2012?

NOX sensors and pump just to start, And we expect several other things. Truck has over 30 codes stored all having to do with emissions
