Air Suspension out AGAIN

I have a 2020 2500 w/6.4 hemi that has had air suspension problems 3 times now. The first time the bag blew out (no sensor warning light came on) while pulling a 24' camper from Atlanta to Sarasota with less that 10k miles on the truck, about 7k miles later after replacement of the bag the sensor warning light came on while just driving around town for no reason & reset. Now, with 32k miles the sensor warning light came on again and I have lost my air shocks again as well as the camera accessory button after pulling a trailer from NJ to FL. I am not liking this air suspension crap.... dealer down here and up in Atlanta can't schedule service till mid April - a month out..... WTF, I am supposed to drive for a month with no air suspension?

That sucks. I've heard about a lot of issues with the 1/2ton air systems, but not so much with the HD version. FWIW, the air bags in my 18 2500 have been great so far.

I checked earlier (Sept. or Oct. 2021) and couldn’t find anyone else reporting any airbag issues. 2021 RAM Bighorn 2500 Hemi Cab Crew with factory air suspension and it blew an airbag while towing a 9000 lb. trailer with just over 5000 miles. Dealer at first said the exhaust pipe burned a hole in the passenger side airbag (melted rubber on the exhaust pipe) but then later said it probably blew out first and the melted bag was a remnant. The truck, with or without the trailer, was practically undrivable without the air. Had to dr under 40 until it was fixed. Didn’t realize there are no springs on the 2500’s as backup - unlike the 3500’s. Going on a longer trip sometime this year and sure hope it doesn’t happen again. We upgraded the suspension on the trailer and hope that might help. We did get a warning message (said to turn off the truck and have it serviced immediately), but we were over 100 miles from home and that wasn’t possible. Took 2-3 weeks to get replacement parts. Dealer said it shouldn’t have caused any long term problems with the truck - it was just sitting on the bump stop for the passenger side.

I dont understand why they try to reinvent the wheel, transports have been running bags for decades rather flawlessly why cant they adapt the tech and scale it down in this day and age there should be no issue dealing with simple airbag systems, they need to stop trying to make things fancy and just make things that WORK!

Seems like anything needing parts these days turns into a wait and it's not just new vehicles. Air bags are like many other options, when they work people are happy and think nothing of it. Parts fail though, and those experience it tend to speak up and ask questions. Sometimes that could be a good thing as it seems strange a vehicle designed to haul a ton plus payload and #10k plus trailer weight would rely on a bump stop as the fail safe for an airspring failure.
