Air suspension issues

Hello, I have a 2016 2500 Laramie with the factory rear air suspension. I’ve been having a light pop up on the dash the past 2 months saying immediate air suspension service/ repair required. I took it to a shop and they read the code which came back as C1556-96. They told me it was a right rear leveling sensor. After searching online for hours i finally found it. Put the new one on and nothing happened. Had the codes cleared and read again and the same one popped up. I found the air compressor power and ground were corroded, Bought a new one and still nothing was any different. I’ve checked my fuses, I found that the air compressor fuse has no power going to it. Does anyone have a clue? Any help is appreciated i’m riding on bump stops

When the new sensor is installed, it must be programmed. It seems that anytime the air suspension setting is viewed in alpha obd it deletes the measurements, and it must be recalibrated. Being that yours is konked out, now is a good time to get the alpha obd program and cable, so you can see live data on what the module sees.

I have been using OBD JScan (with bypass cable) and it does NOT delete the air suspension calibration settings. However a high end X-Tool scanner did and was unable to write them back in. Once the settings are deleted the air suspension is disabled. Interesting that Alpha OBD deletes the setting as well. Currently the IOS version of JScan will not write new calibration settings due to a bug which will be corrected in an upgraded version out later this month.

I only know the alpha obd issue, cause I opened the tab, and it cleared all settings, and calibrations. Then after a couple of hours of scrubbing the internet I was able to find a file that explained how to measure the truck, and plugged in the numbers of 300mm and it all cleared up.

Does entering in higher values in the calibration fields make the truck sit higher or lower. Deduction tells me lower. But not sure.

There is a certain window of values that will be excepted when using alhaOBD. The unit of measurement is in mm. The window seems pretty small to me, its suppose to sit around 298mm. I believe I tried to put in 290, and it wouldn't accept it. I just put in 300mm one time and then it took, then did the measurements and saw that spec was 298 and put that in. My truck sits 1/2 an inch higher on the drivers side, can't tell by looking at it, so I just let it roll. I was terrified when I opened the setting and there was no numbers to view, and didn't have a starting point to just try numbers. And when I closed out of the program I had a suspension error message. So had to do a bit of experimenting for an hour, and then finally found the above PDF and plugged in those numbers.

I do wish that there was more info on how to balance the height side to side, and how to make the truck sit level when no load is on the back. Without using the ALT Height switch, and then having it raise back up.

I am also having issues with my air suspension on my 2017 2500. when I turn my key over i can here a click at the compressor then a second later a pop sound then it sets off the light on the dash any ideas or help would be great I have changed the relay and the fuses under the hood I've also replaced the compressor as well

Someone else posted this a while back. My right side was a bit lower so I entered 307 on the left and 300 on the right. I have a RWD dually. See the chart in the attached for procedure and specs.

One is for air suspension "Ride height system calibration performance" and the other is for "Plant Mode". The first tells you that calibration settings are missing and plant mode will go away when you drive it after correct calibration settings are entered. Are you using J-Scan? If you are contact the developer and request to be added to the latest beta. It will fix your issue. Be sure the numbers you enter are in spec and J-Scan is set to metric.

I'm pretty sure I got a faulty compressor I ran the circuit test and it fails. Every test fails
