Air Purifier?

I kind of agree with this. And, thankfully most of us in this country still have a choice on the matter. Those who don't, likely didn't have a choice on the other vaccinations they've received due to their jobs or whatever prior to COVID - albeit that's often brushed under the rug in this discussion (hi, military guys).

The one thing that really bugs me about this though, is that many of these people want to have their cake and eat it too. If you want the choice to get vaccinated or not, you need to recognize that choice comes with its own set of potential consequences, as it always has. You are free to homeschool, and not go and attend or work at places that require it, as you always have been. These things are not new.

I really just long for the days where we can all once again agree that the anti-vaxxers are just as nuts as the flat-earthers, but instead we have people dying preventable deaths in some insane attempt to prove a point.

In regards to air filters in trucks, as someone who really enjoys a clean interior, I want my filter to do the best it can. However, I'm not so sure how much I care about it killing bacteria and viruses really. I can't imagine, even running the HVAC at 100% power in recirc, the truck is going to be actively cleaning the air well enough to make any difference for me. End of the day though, I suppose even if it does things 1% better than not, that's a 1% improvement.
well said, in regards to the filter’s, N95’s do work, in hospitals, in construction of farming settings. That’s just a fact, hopefully Ram has a true N95 setup. OP’s question was about an aftermarket solution though lol

I was referring to any and all filters in a vehicle, really. I recognize their function, especially in say hospital settings, but I feel like the vehicle is a bit different. If one is really that concerned about transmission in their vehicle, the best solution would be N95 (or similar) face masks on occupants. Not a filter large enough to pull any and all air in the cabin through it faster than it'll get to the other occupants, if that's even truly possible.

I mean, I have a pretty robust air purifier (HEPA w/ 0.003 microns capturing ability and some PlasmaWave situation that is apparently very good at killing things) in my office that I could theoretically plug in in the back seat of the truck, but I'd be hard pressed (and I'm admittedly no expert on this subject whatsoever) to believe that it'd help me out all that much in the case of a sick passenger sneezing or whatever in the cabin while we're driving together. I've got much more faith in masks, and/or rolling the windows down. Or, just not driving around with sick people outside of my immediate family.

Well N95 is just a rating, doesn’t matter it’s size or application. I’m talking about any particulate coming into the cabin from the outside, not just viral particulates from inside the cabin. Asian and Euro cars have Been doing this for years, I recommend researching some of that for all of you. I have no doubt, it’s the same setup from Ram. They’re just late to the game, as are all American cars nowadays.

Oooh, I'll definitely do some reading on this. I admittedly may have gotten a little hung up on the OP wanting to make their vehicle "safe from COVID", and assumed they were speaking strictly about interior air circulation. Never really considered the thought around sucking "bad" outside air in, particularly in that regard.

That’s the main point of the filter, it’s not about cabin air being circulated in, it’s about bad air outside coming in. Look at Asian cars. They have them because of the pollutants, long before covid was even a thing.

I think and believe that air purifiers help, especially indoors. It helps lessen the risk of illness, asthma, and allergies. It prolongs the life of the AC unit and makes the house smell better. An air purifier also helps in controlling pet hair and dust formation. Some people even say that air purifiers help them sleep better. The pollution nowadays is unimaginable, so we do the best we can for the safety of ourselves and our family. You can [MOD:SPAM LINK REMOVED] to see more benefits of installing an air purifier.
Pollution unimaginable?? Sure if you live in China but for the vast majority of the US air pollution has massively decreased over the past 50 years despite what the environmental wackos would have you believe.

We live out west and during the summer we have pretty good air quality. But - once it gets cold, late fall, winter, and early spring, we get inversions which makes the air quality extremely bad. During the worst of it we head south for a weekend to let the lungs recover a bit.
