Air Filters

By what measure does performance fall off? I live in a dusty environment(AZ), and share a caliche dirt lane with my neighbors. I cleaned out my airbox at 13-14K miles, brushed loose debris off filter, and it will easily go 30K. These filters can hold a massive quantity of dirt, and still flow well. I'd bet it they still had an air restriction indicator on the inlet it wouldn't be pulled down.
I miss those things, had one on my 96 ram duelly

I was losing 5mpg and power was way down. I also live in the desert. It would be much more noticeable in my 3500 regular cab long box. I am probably much lighter than you. The 6.4L Hemi is very snappy. If you don’t watch what your doing and just punch it to pass someone say going 60. From 3 car lengths back, you will find yourself over 100 by the time you get around them. Not even close to that when the filter gets dirty.

I gotta say I'm amazed. I think I went 35K or so on my '15 6.4 Hemi with no ill effect. You are right on the 6.4, especially with the 8 spd. For a small-block, that engine is a hoss.

I found it very hard that this was an issue. But I cannot argue with results. I thought for sure they messed up my truck so I would bring it back. Not the case. They do need to be blown out occasionally. Just don’t get caught.
