Air Filter Change Question

I must be missing something here, folks. I went to change out the engine air filter and I can’t seem to shift the cover enough to clear the circled frame support. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to remove the plastic cover and unbolt that support to change the filter?

It takes some finessing but it will come out of there.

I think all the screws for the air filter cover have come completely out first.

Yeah, I had all the screws out when I was trying to remove the cover. I chuckled.
