Just bought a 2019 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. It has 27k miles. Ive been checking the air temp coming from vents, but it doesnt seem cold enough. Its cold, but maybe 50 degrees. It is about 95 outside. I will check it with a temperature probe when i get home since i do residential hvac myself. But does anyone know what the actual discharge air temp should be coming from vents? or are these know to not have extrememly cold air coming out?

There is a TSB if you're still under warranty. Can't give you the link right now but there's a big A/C thread.

I believe i have 10k left on the bumper to bumper and 70k left on the mechanical/drivetrain. Thanks alot for the info. I will make my saleman aware and hopefully get it taken in.

50 degrees at the vents will be slow. That's about what I had in another truck and it was just slow on a hot day. Spent some time and money on it to gain about 5 degrees at the vents and it made a big difference. Mid-40's seems to be about the sweet spot for good A/C.

Edit: For clarification, I mean on a hot day, 90-100 degrees, a vent temp of 50-52 after the cabin has cooled down and vent temp has stabilized will be adequate but slow to cool down.

Unfortunately, the AC design on these trucks is not the greatest even after the TSB. On my 22' I ended up bypassing the heater core, simply installed a ball valve to block flow to the heater core. I don't have a temp gun but I am happy with the AC performance now, definitely colder than stock. Once the temps start to drop in the fall I will open the valve so I have heat. One of the popular kits are the Muzzys AC hack kit, comes with ball valve, heater hose, and clamps. Takes roughly 10-15 minutes to install.

My 2 cents. Clamp the hose or add a valve because I had the TSB done and it's not worth it. There was basically no noticeable improvement. In fact; my steering wheel now squeaks when I turn it at a certain place and it's extremely annoying. This happened when the TSB was done which seems odd.

I need to look into how you did that - my biggest complaint after ~2 weeks of ownership of my 2022 is the AC and how if it's not on max AC - it doesn't seem to blow cold enough at all. Bit shocking imo.

Search for a thread titled "A/C Issues? Anyone else" and read the last few pages. Also go on Amazon and search for muzzys a/c, they have pics that show you where to install. It made a noticeable difference in my 22, before my ac would barely keep me cool.

I had the TSB dome on my 2019....it seemed a little better after that . I cant complain about the AC in the 2021 3500 I had or the current 2022. It was 112 today and it cooled the truck down in about 5 minutes of driving. I usually remte start the truck before I leave work to get it cooled down so I am not getting in to a truck that is 132 degrees inside.

I just did the Muzzy's on my truck. About 10 degrees cooler on an 80* F day. Imagine it will be even better when it is 100*. Posts 623 through 628 in this thread sum it up. There is similar information earlier in that thread and also in another large A/C thread.

My 21 also has great A/C.

My 22 3500 HO is also very good.

My 2020 is cold even when its 110 in AZ. Don't understand why some would work great and others don't. Same design I thought.

I went out to the truck today to see how cold it was blowing. Not the hottest Tucson day so far this week but 104 degrees F when I tried this. The inside was showing about 108 degrees F. After about 6 minutes the temps were down to about 35 degrees F. It fluctuated between the temps 32 degrees and 49 degrees when reading on the lower portion of the vent or the upper - not sure why.

35Deg F is down right COLD!! My 2022 2500 comes nowhere near that. On max AC it blows out slightly cool air - doesn't even give one goose bump on my arms.

If you have the aux switches i wonder if this would be a good addition.

I think something like that would be great, but from a quality standpoint that does not look like it cuts the mustard. Plus it has a duty cycle.
