Forget 25ft/lb torque on the countersunk screw. Nothing needs to be removed for install.

yes that seems excessive. blue locktite and 20 max. Did you snap one? I check my rear (AEV) and they have not loosened in 6000 miles and I used blue locktite. One thing I do not like on the AEV rear anyway is the drain plug is a bitch to get out and has about 2" of threads lol and feels like something is going to break or strip.

currently trying to find the NPT size for the diff cover(drain plug), gonna retap for correct depth

I figured when i change fluid ill just pop the cover like stock. It is a little disheartening tho that a $310 cover has this problem.

agreed, need to step up quality control. On a side note how many weeks did it take to get your dethloff skid? Im on week...8 I think.

yeah the countersunk one snapped at the intersection of the head and thread.

I think it ended up being 3 months and he promised me it would take 5 weeks when i ordered it because i was going to moab And he said i would get it Before i went. i Got one excuse after another. He would promise it would ship and then it wouldn’t and even once sent a tracking number that was bogus. it is a nice skid but he should have been honest about how long it would take.

For what it’s worth, Marcus was super accommodating with my skid plate order last August and went the extra mile to get it to me in time for my trip.

I have my front and rear AEV covers coming in today. Will do the swap this weekend.

My Dethloff skid was slow to ship too (2 months to my door). It came though and it's the only option out there. It's already taken some scrapes.

Strange, the Dethloff website has this listed as sold out for a while. Anybody hear anything about these being back in stock sometime soon? I'll probably just send an email their way.

they are always out of stock, but I think maybe now he is waiting until he gets caught up a bit before taking further orders on them.

My front and rear AEV covers came in. Like the other 2 people stated, the front cover drain plug is not tapped far enough into the cover. Drain plug sticks out too far for my liking. I will tap it more this weekend. Disappointed with my first AEV product.

I'm sure the plug is supposed to bottom out on the threads, but you can tell by the wear marks only 2-3 threads are engaging. I doubt that's AEV intention. If you flip the cover over and look at the back side of the hole you can see where the threads aren't tapped far enough.
