Adding Towing Technology Group RAM 2500

I have a 2021 RAM Limited with surround camera, truck bed camera. There are cameras on the exterior rear view mirrors, in the stop light, front grill and rear tailgate. I do not have the Towing Technology Group installed but wanted to know if it can be activated or installed so I have that extra view/angle when backing up a trailer. I'm wondering if the software can be flashed to unlock that feature by a dealer.

So more research has yield that it may have been a factory error and the coding was left out of the factory system flash. A dealer does not have the ability to add that etc. So I guess I'm not activating that.

I’ll have to look through the settings, but I’d expect you can enable it with AlfaOBD.

To be clear, I assume you’re talking about the view rearward from both mirror cameras, like this?

In VehConfig 8 change “Trailer Reverse Guidance” to “Yes”.

Silly question but would you be able to add this camera view If you only add the mirror cameras or would you need to add all cameras required by the towing tech group.

I'd imagine it would work, but since adding in those already requires the CVPM, which would also require you to change to the digital tailgate camera I'd think you might as well go ahead and install the front camera as well and get full surround view.

Can the Towing Tech group be added to a 2026 2500 rebel with level 1 package that didn't come with it originally? Or other high quality aftermarket option maybe that would have the same camera views and options? Ty

Right now there’s not much way to add anything to a 2026 as there isn’t software available to change configuration yet.
