I’ve been lucky. 13 year old Tundra with the original strut. Still works. They’ve gone bad on all of our tundras. They will all eventually go bad.

I found the thread to solder the new button on. I have ordered the buttons from Amazon. Thanks.Every fob already has the circuitry built in. You can confirm by removing the circuit board from your remote and touching a wire on the 2 contacts that would be under the tailgate open button. All you need to do is solder on a button or get a fob that has it already there and get it programmed/program it.
Slower than that.Link: 2019 Ram 2500 Ebay Tailgate strut opening
How quick does yalls tailgates open?
It's an ebay strut, I know. But still curious of how fast it is compared to oem etc. In my head I thought it was a more slow gracious decent
I just installed mine a couple weeks ago. My tailgate probably takes 3 seconds to open and does not slam at the end. I bought the OEM strut.Link: 2019 Ram 2500 Ebay Tailgate strut opening

Not for me... the 2024 lower access hole is taking lots of skin off my hand.Adding the strut took almost as much time as opening the packaging. Well worth it
