Adding Recon cab lights

Anyone know on truck without factory cab lights is one of the existing wires coming up the a pillar harness for cab lights?

If not any ideas on where to tap in for them?

There is a block connection on the Passenger side access panel. Dash side. Look for the White with Green Striped wire. You can Pin the connector for power. It is switched.
 
Yea, I’d get the factory kit. Just as good looking and the quality is much better. Recon=regrets.

Hey well good luck, let us know how they work out down the road. Maybe their QC has changed for the better.

Just out of curiosity, how do they leak? Through the drilled holes or does the device itself somehow leak into the cab? Also, do they have issues that persist to this day or is it that old Recon lights used to fail?

I have seen new ones out of the box fail and the leaks are from the gaskets usually

Well, I'm good with that because they're working fine so fingers crossed that they keep going. As for the gaskets I looked at them and immediately felt that they were inadequate. So I removed the gasket material locally and put a generous helping of butyl around each screw as well as the wire hole. I also drilled the minimum sized hole for each.

Well hopefully they last longer for you than the average ones i see

It’s not the housing to roof that leaks (on the 2019+ kit), it’s the lens that separates from the housing. Check out my post linked below on mine. I’m on my third set they keep sending me. Some of my lenses have totally separated from the housing to where they were just bouncing around.
I know everyone wants the factory 2019+ LED style, but I would just recommend to install the pre-2019 mopar kit. They’re tried and true, and just don’t leak or have problems. That’s what I had on this 2017 before I “just HAD to have” the 2019+ style from recon, and I wish I would have left well enough alone.

Clearance lights

I had a set of Recon tails. 2 diodes went out within 6 months. Recon offered to sell me a new taillight so I didnt have to buy both...90 day warranty:mad: I strongly dislike them - but it appears this is the best solution for a guy wanting to add cab lights to a 19+

I wonder how they bond the lense to the housing? If mine come loose I'll try butyl...
