Adding Cargo Camera

My truck is a 2022 tradesman 2500. To add the cargo camera you need to replace the CHMSL "cargo lamp". part 68465999AA. This has the digital rear view camera and analog cargo camera. Then you need to get a custom wire harness from Jimmy here on the forums. This will need to be programed with Alfa, If you would like to add the digital rear view mirror its just a new digi rear view mirror part #68519111AA and a 10' fakra Z cable, female to female end. (programming not required)

I got the custom harness from Jimmy but is there any guide on where to pin the wires to?

There are 4 wires to pin and 2 grounds but aside from the end goes behind the radio I a have no idea what to do with it

The kaodtech instructions are a good guide.
These should be correct up to 2021. With UC5 the wire positions in the radio plug are different. Jimmy would have the wires labeled correct to your truck.

Where did you pin the wires too behind the radio? The wires are labeled 25, 31 and 32 but those slots in the plug already have wires in them.
What did you end up doing? My harness is labeled 21,22,23 and all three are populated at the radio harness.

Should I de pin and pin in the new wires?

I need some help....

I bought and installed the harness from Jimmy.

Inactivated the CHMSL camera setting a
With aplhpaOBD. But I am getting nothing.

There is no option change or different action from within the radio. Not sure what to do from here. I would think if it was successful I would at least see an option change and worse case crappy or no video, but I am getting nothing

Did you end up "cutting" out the blank in your existing CHMSL to add the cargo camera, or did you get a whole new assemble with both the rear view camera and the cargo camera? I am in a similar situation where I have the digital rear view mirror but no cargo camera
Did you order the CHMSL assembly that was suggested? Curious, does it have two cameras in it, or one camera and one opening, of just places to add the cameras?

New CHMSL with digital rear view mirror output and analog cargo output should be 68465999AA.
When you say "output" is there cameras installed in the CHMSL or do they need to be purchased separately? I have a 2021 Laramie, has the Cargo camera installed) and I would like to add the DRVM, so I am looking for the correct assembly to order. Then I would also like to know the type or part number for the extended cable for a trailer camera and what is needed to allow the "tow mode" to work.

Got mine installed and working. What issues exactly are you having?
Still have no picture just a blue screen. Jimmy isn't responding so I am basically stuck. I got it working on an aftermarket radio so I am guessing it is just pinned wrong but I am not about the just start depinning random wires

A few seperate things...
So 68465999AA "Cargo Lamp" part number is for the physical third brake light that has the installed integrated digital camera(clear picture) that is used for sending a signal to a digital rear view mirror. It also has an integrated analog camera in it that sends a signal to the Head Unit for cargo camera viewing(grainy picture).

The 68519111AA "Inside Rear View Mirror" is the DRVM physical part that has the correct digital connections to input a signal from your cargo lamp part above. It also has the digital input for a tow mode camera. While your in there replacing this, you may want to put in a automatic wiper "rain sensor" part number 68298334AA. its relatively cheap at $75ish. You will need 1 Fakra cable to connect the DRVM to the cargo lamp. I believe its this part. Female to Female 10'. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P2VBYWZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

The Tow mode Camera( "Back Up Camera Kit") part number 68527599AA is sold as a kit(not complete). You will need the "Trailer Tow Connector"(at the bumper) Part number 68508681AA. You will also need a digital Frakra cable to connect a few places. My truck needed a cable from the DRVM to the driver side rear seat belt area(at head height). I believe its a female to male 16.5'... might be wrong. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HP647BX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1. If you peel back the tape on the harness there, you can move the factory wire down and out a factory hole to connect it to the frame connection you should find under the truck. If you do not want to spend the time doing that tedious work, just buy the wire from the DRVM to the drivers seat belt area and then another 3' or so wire from the floor seat belt area to the frame connector. Another option i guess would be to buy a long 25' or so and go from the DRVM to the frame area, bypassing the little integrated factory fakra. The last connection should just be to take the cover plate off near the lisense plate and pull out the factor fakra wire and connect the trailer tow connector. I had to take off the spare tire because of a weird tucked connector.

Hope this helps. :)

I am addressing my vehicle now with a potential cargo cam connection being used as a front cam, however, I am confused about the pinouts on the radio. If i wanted to go a cheaper route and get just a cam instead of replacing the whole module and harness, I would tap into potentially the 12v power for the cigarette lighter socket, but which 2 pins on the radio harness would actually be for the 2 camera connections. Im thinking its 21 and 22? Wiring is already there so I would just be using a T-Tap or something similar.
