Adding aftermarket amp

I’m fixing to add an amp and some subs to my truck. I have an LC2i to grab the bass signal from the OE sub wiring, but have a few questions about the install in general;

1) is there an existing firewall grommet that folks use for the amp’s power wire? If not, I will drill one and add a pass-thru grommet.

2) i have seen a few posts on other forums about disabling the in-cab noise cancellation system. Will I need to do this, and if so how is that done?

Thx

I don’t remember specifics but I ended up going with audio control amps and I had to get a harness for under the drivers seat that eliminated the noise cancellation. I’ll double check my setup and see if I can get you some more information. I’m happy with everything and it sounds good. I built my own sub box and I’ll probably change that out for more volume and clearance of the rear seat.

What year truck do you have? Is it a 2500, and what factory stereo do you have?

On my ‘22 with the HK system, I dont think the amp is under the seat.

2020 3500 with the 8.4 uconnect. It took a bit of digging through threads to get it lined out for my truck. I have the base mode with no amps and it was a bit of work. The ANC connection was under my seat but I’m not sure if they are all the same or not. Mine is a 6 speaker, dash and all doors, 3.5” and 6x9s. Hopefully it helps some?

Yes, thanks. I have the harness to disconnwct the ANC, I just cant find the amp. Or, my amp is under the seat and looks different than the ones i’ve seen in videos.
