Adding 360 cameras or just a front view

That was a feature added with the new body style update (along with the new mirrors, hood, etc). Older trucks require an aftermarket gizmo to make it work. I would really like to have that on my 2021, but not enough to spend the money and open up the dash to install the gizmo.
What’s the gizmo?

My truck came with I think every option except the front and cargo cams. I really wish it had the front cam but the dealer told me that's factory not dealer installed. I've managed 4 years now without it but it sure would be nice. But I want it to pop up automatically on the screen like the rear cam. I don't want to add an additional screen of some sort on the dash or the rear mirror or wherever. So I haven't pursued an aftermarket solution

Canada spec trucks can, for some reason.
Show me? My understanding is the lockers/sway bar wiring occupied the connector that is used for the aux switches. If so, I think this would be pretty big news for the power wagon owners because it would make retrofit possible.

Go to the build and price on the Canadian website and build a Power Wagon. It's an option under "Options and Technology". If it's in error, it's one they've made for several years. https://www.ramtruck.ca/en

2025:
Instrument panel-mounted auxiliary switches$395
Included Features:
  • Dash pass-thru wire circuits

2024 and 2023:
Instrument panel-mounted auxiliary switches$200

2024 and 2023:

The build and price is a known joke. So many inaccuracies.

The Canada build and price also says you can get a 5th wheel prep with a PW, which isn’t an option.

You can see in this Canada brochure that the PW Rebel has the option for aux switches and 5th wheel prep, but the PW does not.

I know they have inaccuracies, but it's been like that for years on the CAN site with the US site being correct. I took them at their word, but obviously incorrectly.

Just an FYI - At least on my 2024 with surround view cams, there is an option buried somewhere in the center screen settings for the side cameras to activate when you turn on the turn signal. I also thought it was weird that it had surround view cams but they didn't come on with the turn signals like they do in pretty much every other vehicle with surround cams. Then I found the setting one day while wasting some time looking through all the center screen settings before going into work. I was pretty surprised that it was not "On" as standard. It does work, but it is not perfect. There is a very much noticeable 1-2 second delay between when you activate the turn signal and the camera view pops up on the screen. Personally, I would of liked the camera view to pop up in the dash, but it is what it is. I'll try to remember to find which menu its in and post back.
Did you find where in the Menu this is?

It’s in the driver assistance menu. It’s not very useful for every day driving as it takes about a second before the camera turns on.

I just noticed that the PW I am supposed to be getting tomorrow doesn't have the front cam - and frankly - I'm shocked. It's a level 3 truck, and no front cam. Weird. The only options it doesn't have are the lane keep and the 360 camera.
I just bought one about a month ago that was on the lot. Has pretty much everything on it BUT the camera system. I would think the front camera would be standard with this thing. Have taken it on a few trails already and so hard to see over the hood! Gonna follow this thread to see if someone figures out how to add OEM into the existing system.

My son uses the Wolf Box mirror camera that shows a front and rear camera view at the same time or just one. Very clear and works well. He has it on his Jeep Wrangler and they are inexpensive and have good resolution.

In order to add just the factory front camera from the surround view camera system, you still need to use the camera processor, and have to change out the rear camera and tailgate handle in order to keep the backup camera functional. The individual front and rear views will work, but the overhead surround view will be all black until all four surround view cameras are present and calibrated.
I saw your post in 5th Gen Rams about adding the front camera with an RCA pig tail. I am like OP and don’t have 360 camera’s in my 24 power wagon. What pins would I tap using CHMSL camera method you posted. It was conflicting on whether its pin 24/25 or 21/22

360 is one of those options I wish I had but by the time you are done with the cams, lane keeping, and adaptive options is adds like $5k to the truck! Its def something I want to add, starting with t(e front and rear cam updates.
This is the best thread i have seen on it:
Need Alpha OBD and security bypass.
