Add automatic wipers

Yes. The one you originally have is only a humidity sensor for ATC. The new one is both rain and humidity sensor.
Thanks again for your expertise and quick response!!

That’s all it was? Just changing the sensor and it worked? I’m also having the same issue.

Yes if you currently have the sensor for humidity that comes with the dual heat control, just need the sensor with both humidity and rain sensing, then use AlfaOBD to enable. Mine works great.

I made the changes to mine and never did get it working.
Just curious if you tried using a jell pak as was being talked about. I purchased the jell pak but realized when the new sensor arrived that it already had the jell applied, no jell pak needed.

My 19 Laramie came factory with rain sensing wipers and I’ve replaced the sensor because I get a single wipe on start up and occasional, random dry no rain wipes. The 3 parameters listed previously in this thread are all set to “on or yes”.
The wiper works as it’s supposed to except for the dry wipe at start and the phantom wipes.
Not sure how to fix that.

At the time the sensor didn’t come with a new gel pack and no one had them in stock to buy. Maybe I should look again to buy 1.

The gel was already applied to the new sensor, not a separate part, no need to purchase a separate gel pak. It had a clear plastic protective cover when removed exposes the side that goes against the windshield with gel already applied. If you add a second gel pack, not realizing the sensor already has gel applied, you would probably see a lot of issues.

So should I have removed the existing gel off my windshield from the humidity sensor?

If the new sensor had jel already applied, like mine did, then absolutely, and clean the windshield good with ibuprofen alcohol.

I’m pretty much convinced mine is a programming issue at this point. Pass the ibuprofen, it’s giving me a headache.

Successfully enabled!
My original sensor was 68298468AA. Ordered part number 68298334AA.
Disconnected batteries before swapping the sensors. Removed the old sensor and gel with a plastic scraper. Thoroughly cleaned the glass with Isopropyl (rubbing 90%) alcohol with several Q-Tips and made sure there was no dust or smudges that I could see. I set the new sensor on the dash in the sun for 30 minutes to heat the gel pad up. I got the new sensor mounted with no bubbles by first putting the connector end against the glass, then rotating until it snaps in. You can see the connector is angled to allow this. These are the AlphaOBD settings I used.
- VehConfig 2: Rain Sensor Present: Yes
- 2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat.: Rain Sensor Module #2 Present: No
- 2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat.: Humidity Sensor Long Present: Yes
- LIN and Misc: Humidity Rain Light Sensor Present: Yes
- Cust.Set.Menu 1: Rain Sensitive Wipers CSM Present: Yes
After that, the radio settings screen showed the rain sense wipers checkbox checked. Tested it with the water hose and it's seems to be working properly. I did not do the re-adaption because I couldn't find it.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the instructions in this thread.
