There appears to be two possible problems:
1. I did an experiment that proves the hot engine coolant that always runs through the heater core reduces the effectiveness of the air conditioning. This may be a diesel-only problem; I don't know how the heater core loop is designed in the gas engine.
2. There seems to be a problem with the temperature sensors. This may be a problem that only affects vehicles with the dual-zone climate feature. At least 3 people, myself included, have confirmed that AlfaOBD shows the temperature sensors are not configured correctly. This could be a red-herring due to a bug in AlfaOBD, so more investigation is required.
