A/C Issues? Anyone else

Just for your record (RamCares). When I took my new truck in for a frontend alignment with only less than 1000 miles on it I mentioned to the service desk person that I thought my A/C was not blowing optimum cold she replied if it's blowing cooler than 15 degrees than outside temperature that it was within factory specifications, nothing to look at.
That's insane, no way. She's saying if it's 90* outside that 74* is within factory specs?

It was in the 90s yesterday and it had me shivering so I had to turn it down, so I wonder if it is isolated to the higher level models, mines a 2019 3500 Tradesman.
My 2020 Ram Tradesmen A
There seems to be a trend towards the dual zone units having more problems than others...
My truck is a 2020 3500 Tradesmen and the AC is the worst 60 degree air is no good!!!!

I have heard it mentioned about frost/condensation on the windshield. I took this picture Friday night. The windshield was clear until we stopped for about 5 minutes. This happens consistently when it's hot and humid out and the truck sits with the AC running for a bit. I have never had a truck seem to "leak" so much AC air through the defroster. My 2020 3500 does the exact same thing!

Who has gone to their dealer? Who has complained to RAM with an actual documented issue and not just rant?

When I went to the dealer and asked them if they would look at it and when I described the not cooling enough problem they told me if it's cooling 15 degrees below ambient temperature (outside temp.) it was within factory specifications and nothing they would do.

I have. Dealer noted vent temp at 48* and no repair done (or something along those lines). I've never seen temps below 52*.

Dealership is useless for this matter. When I took mine in on a hot mid-summer day one dealership told me straight in my face that the AC is within "spec" and go pound sand. Another one actually purged and recharged the system for me and said that's all they can do. Beside clamping down/install shut off valve at the exit hose, I do not think there is a fix until Ram come up with a permanent solution of how to stop or slow down flow rate of hot coolant entering the core when the AC is running.
May be @RamCares could give us an update?

My truck and experience...

Seems that on the hot days when you need it and are thinking about it, it meets spec, but at the very top end of the spec. 55-56* driver's side center vent temp.

However, take it in on a 60* morning and have them do the test, at full operating temp. It will no longer meet spec, as the lowest vent temperature received on the driver's side center vent will be right around 52-53*, while the spec calls for a 45* max....

Kinda counter intuitive, but points to a significant issue in the hvac blending box. Now clamp the heater hose off, and you will get low 40*s after about 10 minutes of running and it removing the residual heat from the heater core.

Are the folks having issues with modals that have the dual cooling zones? Which may also include the seat cooling/heating?

Well, @RamCares mentioned there will be a campaign this quarter to look into this problem so we know at least FCA is hearing about the issue. Whether or not something happens about it remains to be seen. Fingers crossed for those with the issue.

My truck in the Arizona heat @ 112 out side temp mine works great. How is some not cooling and others are ? I don't see how there is a fix when most work great. could it be a installation issue when the truck was built ?

Any updates on that 4th quarter campaign? The response I got from the dealership regarding my Cummins 2500 AC performance was comical! Apparently my system passed with a feels like temp of 85 on a hot NM day!

WOW ! Unbelievable, although I was told here in Misery ( pronounced Missouri) 15 below outside temperature was acceptable. so sad

Mine blows cold too in AZ. It seems more like a blower speed issue with mine. Crank that thing full from off and it sllloooowwwwwllyy starts to ramp up to full, and full would be maybe 65% of what it would be on all my GM vehicles.

Nice and cold, but as if a 80mm computer fan is blowing it out. This is where I could see the "campaign" doing something about it. Probably tell the BCM to send more voltage.

Riddle me this... If I put mine on auto, the system will blow like a hurricane out of the vents when I first get in. However, if I try manually set it at the top fan speed, I don't get anywhere near the blow despite what mode setting I try to use.

Mine does the same

Mine is the same. It has a "hidden" fan speed on AUTO that is +1 faster than any manually selectable option.
