8.5” vs 12” touchscreen

Just to be clear, the new Uconnect 5 systems are expected to have wireless AA. The current Uconnect 4 does not.
I misunderstood, thought the 2020 models had this capability. Apparently not.

I find it amusing that the GPS in trucks, meant for towing, cannot adjust routes for the weight, height or length of the rig when towing. So I'd have to use my RV GPS anyway.

Not only that but you (passenger) can't set a route while moving. I will be ordering a Garmin RV GPS portable unit soon, it will also be usable in my Motorhome since I really dislike the Rand McNally unit it came with.

I have not heard much good about the Rand-McNally GPS units. And for the cost of the RV, I'd not be a happy camper.

I had the 8" screen on my 2019 1500 Laramie and now have the 12" on my 2019 Power wagon.

Other than the 12" looking "cool" there seems to be no benefit for me. I prefer the manual buttons and controls for the climate system that the 8" offers.

FWIW I added wireless Carplay and charging to both trucks and it works great.

What wireless adapter are you using for the wireless carplay? Thanks!

Thanks, Anthony!

where are you putting that at in the truck? If it just plugs into a USB port does it not just dangle there by where the phone is supposed to be sitting?

I'm in a power wagon so I just put it in the little cubby hole next to the USB ports. In my 1500 there were still plenty of options in the center console to mount it. Take a look at the thread I posted and you will see the different location people chose. Should be the same console as the 2500.

I will check out your post. I’m definitely interested. I have the cubby where the CD player is missing also and I have the wireless charging so this would be very nice to have.
