I understand the driving part of the relearn, but can I initiate a relearn/quick learn through AlfaOBD? If not, what's the method? I'll be swapping in an aftermarket valve body in the near future and want to understand the process beforehand.

Yes, you can do a quick relearn with AlfaOBD. I would still recommend doing the drive easy with lots of stop and go for 30+ miles though.

Yes, I have used it. It's nothing special but it works. EzLynk also has that ability to do it if you happen to have that tuner. My only disclaimer is this was done on a 16' truck so I have not tested it on a 19-20.

Just a heads up according to revmax you need to do a PI curve relearn as well and supposedly that’s dealer only level stuff

**The 2019 68rfe requires a PI Curve Relearn that must be done along with the quick learn before driving the vehicle**

Yes that's how it is! That's why I need to know before changing the valve body if this tool ( Vgate vLinker MC+) can do the relearn before starting it and testing the truck!

The MC+ and all other OBDII readers need an app to perform any functions. They are just readers/interface.

JScan or AlfaOBD, and of course, a security gateway module bypass cable like the KAODTECH.

You might want to review this thread: https://www.cumminsforum.com/threads/68rfe-revmax-billet-valve-body-upgrade.2581225/

Ok, but then does this scan tool with the AlfaOBD application and the appropriate security bypass cable have the ability to do Transmission Relearning? And I say suitable bypass cable because I see that there are different shapes and connectors and they also connect to different harnesses each and perhaps they serve the same purpose.

There's only one correct bypass cable for HD trucks and that's one like the KAODTECH that plugs into the CAN bus blocks. If you're looking at 12+8 type cables those are for 1500's. Or those supplied by some vendors like AEV, etc. they are not going to provide full access.

JSCAN and AlfaOBD have the basic quicklearn option. They do not have the PI Curve.

vgate MC+ and any other reader like obdlink MX+, etc. are not a "scan tool" so using that term is misleading. They are a simple ELM327 compatible OBDII reader that require an app to do anything.

In another thread, I gave you the link to the AlfaOBD thread that has all the links and picture of where that bypass cable plugs in.

Thanks for you help. !! So could I use a vgate Mc+ with the KAODTECH by pass cable and This JSCAN or AlfaOBD software to have the basic quicklearn ??, ….. I don’t know if it’s mandatory to do a PI curve before run the truck , I want swap one valve body for an aftermarket valve body

It won’t work without pi curve programmed. What are you trying to achieve with an aftermarket valve body

I just Install de new one from Rev Maxx HD vb, because the oem VB is the part with the most faults that this transmission 68RFE has, that's why I want to change it for one with a better capacity to handle torque and power, ...before the transmission fails
