6.7 Engine Air Filter Confusion

I’m currently running a FleetGuard filter like the one @Units posted that he was having trouble with. I just completed another Active Regen with 25 hours on the EVIC and 990 miles and nothing on the DPF gauge. These trucks shouldn’t be that sensitive as to which quality filter to use. I get trying to run a cheap filter but any good quality filters should be good. I still think it’s one of the sensors not acting right 100% of the time.

I read that the 22+ trucks got new MAP sensors that are now super finnicky and sensitive. It's one of the reasons that when guys put their trucks on a diet plan they have to swap out the MAP, particularly if the OE military tune is flashed to the truck. Maybe that's why the 22+ trucks are so sensitive to air filters?

LIke, as in what is it? Very short version.. the military gets their trucks with no emissions on them. Somebody figured out that since it's an OE factory tune on those truck, that tune can be flashed to ANY Ram 2500 Standard Output Cummins/68RFE truck. This means no ECM swap is needed. Of course, this doesn't allow for power bumps, transmission tuning, etc. But it's a quick and easy way to shut off the problematic mechanical parts of civilian versions of these trucks. However, a specific MAP sensor must be used or the truck will throw CELs. This is said to be due to how finnicky the 2022-2024 MAP sensors are.
