I know the difference between 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th, but what’s the difference between 4th and 5th?

Facelift and new interior. Different engine.

There is no 5th gen HD yet.
The current platform has been designated DJ/D2 since introduction in 2009 and is still... DJ/D2.
When FCA changes it to the next platform code (DK/D3 ?), it will be a 5th Gen.
Lots of updates, mostly cosmetic except for the Cummins CGI and minor updates to current trans, some frame parts, some will say less than the 2013 update.

- GCI block and internals, hydraulic lifters, hollow cam, etc.
- Uprated frame (new parts)
- New radius arms
- New rear axles (11.5" and 12")
- New rear box section (IIRC only 3500)
- Updated 68rfe valve body
- 2021 got an updated Aisin (bigger input shaft for the 1075 lb.ft)
- New (aluminum) hood
- New grille (more cooling) larger radiator
- New bumper
- New front fenders
- New head lights
- New tail lights
- New tailgate
- New interior pasted over the same old cab
- Same seat frames, NOT 5th gen frames
- Same hump in the floor
- Same size (5th gen cab is longer)
