4500 Color Availablity

Yes, it was the absolute base model at the time. Rubber floorboards, vinyl seats, crank windows, etc.

I will admit it wasn't a comfortable truck to drive long distance but it hauled anything we put on the bed (pallets of feed, bales of hay).

I think it was close to 415,XXX-ish at the time of the accident. We had a local diesel shop do the normal oil changes, brake jobs, trans flush, and whatever minor maintenance or repair was needed. Overall a super dependable work truck that we'd probably still be using. Unfortunately once it was totaled we couldn't get it insured with a salvage title so we let it go.
No need for a replacement?

What made you switch sides.....cost?
Cost, kind of....... My dad (who owns the feed store) has always had chevy 3500 dually's since the mid 80's. When he went to trade in his last few the trade in value was so bad we opted to keep them and let our feed store use them as delivery trucks. Just took off the truck bed and replaced with a CM flat bed. Currently he has a 2009 and a 2013 as delivery trucks and his personal truck is a 2018.

I will say that both the '09 and '13 are over 250,000 miles but I very much doubt either of them lasts to 400. The '09 is about done and it's barely at 300.
