Would I be crazy to order a dually gasser? The advantages in towing & payload of a dually are appealing but if I get a diesel I'll be constantly worried about the CP4 pump failing. Using it with a truck camper (+/- towing a boat) or towing a ~9k lb toy hauler. Thanks for any insight!

With a truck camper a 6.4l would be a good choice. You get about 1000lbs more payload.

9k towing is really nothing for the 6.4l. Be sure to get the 4.10 gears.

I would say you may get less MPG...but the jury on the HO Cummins is...it is a thirsty horse too.

You wouldn't be wrong to get it. I let my Cummins go for a 6.4l...i have no regrets.

The kind folks that run truckcampermagazine website have had two ram gas dually's. They seem happy and have some reviews of the trucks on their website

Here's a link to their review of the truck. The truck was totaled I think last year, but they replaced it with the same setup.

Thank-you!!

As a 6 time Cummins owner, I’m just loving my 6.4! It drives so well, has awesome payload, and pulls my camper with ease. However, your geographic location may make your decision. If I lived in the Rockies, I would go Cummins, but in Florida, my set up is perfect.

I'm in Michigan and will rarely tow up hills. The only thing that appeals to me about DRW is stability & safety.

City drivability is exponentially better in the 6.4, and 90% of my driving is city. I would kill diesel emissions with my driving.
