Good afternoon y'all,
I was hoping someone could help guide me in the right direction. I have a 23' 2500 diesel that just hit 7,300 k. Took it to the local Ram dealer 7 days ago today. They responded yesterday afternoon telling me the opened a star care claim on my rig with no other info or diagnosis. The service woman said this could take weeks to diagnose and months to repair. I informed them for the 5th time this is my one and only work truck with out it I cant haul materials or tools. Ended up with a rental SUV which I'm grateful for, but for only 10 days per Mopar. She stated our techs have to go through a Cummins tech for every bolt and part they take off or touch that's why this will take so long. Does anybody have experience with anything like this? Ram care wont take my call or call me back.

Thanks for the help,
P.

What exactly is going on with your truck to have to take it for repairs?

The first repair at 3000 miles was the rubber boot that connects drive shaft to transmission. This repair has not been officially diagnosed, but its a faint clicking sound that goes away 4-5 minutes after start up. It has progressively gotten louder that's why I took it in. I thought it was a fan but the tech says its deep in the motor.

Bummer. But as far as getting satisfaction from Ram, I'm afraid it's not likely. Extremely long repair times and poor communication from Ram Care's are pretty normal these days for major repairs. Not saying you shouldn't raise hell about it, but there are folks that waited for months to get their trucks fixed. Absolutely ridiculous.

Getting 10 days in a free rental is actually pretty good, dealer must be a decent one to give you that.

Might want to check into the lemon laws for your state also. But don't threaten the dealer with that, they'd likely just stop working on it altogether if you did.

Thanks for the feed back.
I had a fear that this was the case. I wasn’t even going down the lemon law road, I still love the rig and how it performs at work for me, but it truly is unreal how we as customers are treated. It feels like I work for them. Thanks again.
