22+ weight loss without ECM swap

Well, diesel dudes are just the middle men..they package everything together. Its the "box tune" company they use (from what I've read) RaceMe ultra. Its like one tune fits all...which isnt true for all trucks...If you look at Dark Iron on youtube, he installs and dyno' runs their kits...seem legit. weight-loss is just a matter of that....lots of companies in the great white north that can supply that. Its the tuning that you need to be picky about. But you'll be spending about that...its the ECM/tuning is where the majority of the costs is. ECM's are going for like 4500 and tuning alone is around another 1700...

You can fix it and be legal OR spend the same amount and not have to worry about the same problem coming back

Any updates? Dealer wants 6k to fix my emissions in my 22. I'm stuck
It seems the ecm swap is still the only sure fire way to do it on a 22 and up. There are people who have been able to do it without but it’s a crap shoot on wether it will work or not.

Isnt emissions covered under warranty? i think it was raised to something like 100k miles? Well, unless you're in Canada you can go on a massive weight loss diet for 6K...
Still not legal here in Canada big fines for it.

This is an old post, but any tune for 22+ trucks without ECM swaps is going to be a factory file from applications that don't have emissions. It'll be a stock power profile, and there shouldn't be any variance between vendors. 'custom' tuning through Diesel Bros is absolutely garbage, but that's because it isn't custom. It's a copy+paste map that's ballparked to be close for your truck. Not dialed in for your specific truck, mods, or altitude. This was fairly commonplace in the market for my old rice burner, and caused just as many issues.

Yeah....box tune for a stock configured truck..they say they can "update" the tune from a data read..but then again..how good is their update tune.

Thats not possible to “update” from a data read. Sou ds like something they tell people to get them to spend the money then they offer no support after since they know you cant go after them for not helping you do illegal mods to your vehicle emissions lol

After searching far and wide, I found a very reputable shop to help me. I spent about $4k for EVERYTHING necessary for weight loss with out swapping ecm. I have a S/O with the 68rfe. Truck runs beautifully....until I start to go up hill. Once I start climbing a hill I surge from 5-9lbs of boost and I can barely make it up the hill. It will continue to drive like **** until I pull over and shut it off for a good 15 mins. Then she's back to normal. I cant even pull my trailer bcus then itll start the boost **** almost immediately. Moral of the story, just do the ecm swap and get a tune specifically for you. (Swapping my ecm soon)

You mean the people selling this are just flashing the ecm with a factory mopar delete tune? But isn't it that you cannot flash a 22 or newer ecm because it is locked?

Did the shop tell you there was a chance it wouldn’t work right? The place I went to said he’d do it if that’s what I wanted but couldn’t guarantee there wouldn’t be issues. He said I was better off just spending the money and doing the ECM swap right off the bat. I only wanted to do this once so I’m glad he told me that.

4k is what it would have been in parts with an ECM swap that shop should be ashamed

It’s a bastardized factory emissions free tune, so they have figured out how to “bench flash” it on.

Don’t do it.
