Does anyone else think subject 21s sit lower than previous years? Even with the plow prep option on my truck (yes I know on paper this does nothing to ride height) that it might have come sitting better than it does, I got the grandpa edition springs apparently

I don't know if the 21's are lower but I hope they are. I have a 2021 3500 DRW 4X4 ordered and I don't want it sitting
way up in the air. The Ford 3500 DRW 4X4 that I just sold sat too high and it made the 17" wheels look small for the truck.

One of the reasons I ordered rear air suspension on my 3500 (not here yet) is because they sit a couple inches lower in the rear than non-air models. My measurements were done on 2020 models so I cannot comment on 2021's. As EastCoaster mentioned above, lower would be a welcome feature for me.

My '21 definitely sits lower than my '14 3500 SRW did; I don't have measurements to back this up.
Getting into the bed, moving stuff an/out, visually, etc.

Glad for this, makes my 5th wheel level out a bit easier.

Thanks for the replies, I’d say my rear sits pretty normal for the 19 and up trucks, it’s my front that is noticeably low compared to even 2500s on the lot

The air ride trucks definitely sit lower, 2" lower than the non air trucks I believe. My 20 3500 rear was lower than my 04.5 2500 rear with the bags deflated.

I'd be a little concerned it has the right springs if it's lower in the front than a 2500 unless those are PW or off-road packages. I *think* they sit like 1" higher?

Put a tape to it and post up your results.

So I came from a 2014 6.4 2500 to a 2020 3500 cummins but I know the front sits lower than my 2500. Its enough of a difference that I am considering going with a 2" level vs a 1".

I’m not a grandpa but I made mine into a grandpa truck, I removed shims from below rear springs to level the truck. Much better now.

Off topic....but I really like those running boards. What brand are they? I’m having a difficult time finding wheel-to-wheel long bed versions. Thanks!!

I think they r tapered shims and they are used to get the driveshaft and pinion gear in the correct angle to each other.

The ones I have removed on almost everything 03 and newer were not tapered and more like several pieces of spring stock vs the older cast block type the 2nd gens had

I thought they might be tapered as well. I know on the F350 I just sold, the blocks were tapered
and it was advised to keep the proper angle on the blocks when I ordered shorter blocks to lower
the truck.

Ford is the only one with tapered blocks

Not tapered. Springs broke in a bit. Smoother now and lost a bit of height. Might have to install one of 3 back in.

Not trying to derail the discussion, but is it your understanding the offroad package has a slight height differnce? I haven't been able to confirm this anywhere

I was concerned when I parked next to some others on the lot, I know it’s not going to be even close to level like the ford I came from, but it’s pretty low in my opinion for having a plow prep option and being a 3500 without air
