Hey everyone im new here. I have a 21’ 2500 6.7 just hit 51,000 miles. Full emissions no tunes (Massachusetts truck) All filters changed every 7,500 miles. Since day 1 it has always been doggy. The last couple weeks its been a bit sluggish. I went to get a coffee with my kids in the morning it was in the 50’s let her warm up for 10-15 mins. (Remote start cycle) when I turned into intersection and accelerated up hill the truck had nothing to it. Since then it has randomly done it. If I dont let it warm up the truck does not want to move. Eventually breaks free and is fine. I got a check engine light. After a couple days it went away. I did add a fuel additive for the first time and ran a tank of diesel thru the truck in the mean time with check engine light on. It shut off randomly after a week. Im a couple weeks out on dealership but figured id join here and get other peoples inputs. I appreciate it thank you

Strange, I have a run of the mill code reader I bought off of the zone that I’ve had a few years. It communicates with my ‘23 just fine. Did you check to see if it was a stored code, sometime it won’t be an active code, could be something that throws check engine light under certain operating conditions.

Sounds like a trans code and would make sense with what you are describing. Sometimes those codes will pop and put you in limp mode. A truck restart will take you out of limp mode at times. If it was a momentary issue which is pretty common on these trucks you would have a historic fault which will disappear on it's own after several restarts.

Sounds like a trans issue almost like its not downshifting. Hit the gear - button on the steering wheel every time you put the truck in drive then cycle the gear buttons until it shows a 6 beside the D then you can see what gear its in, next time it does it note your speed and what gear it shows that will help with the Diag

Just an FYI there is absolutely no reason to warm up the truck in 50° weather so if it does need that to move then there is a big issue
