For 2026 trying to understand the differences between the 4500 and 5500. Looking at the spec sheet the front GAWR is the same so do they have the same front end? The gearing is the same though looks like it was different in past years. Basically the only thing I can find that is different is the rear GAWR so I assume stiffer leaf springs, but is anything else different?
My needs fit within the 4500 limits, but I'm considering doing at the 2 stage kelderman air in the rear so unless that is going to be much different between the two seems like I might be better off going for the 5500 for future resale value if the leaf springs are the only difference? My main use case is towing a big heavy 5th wheel full time, loaded pin estimate of near 5klb and trailer weight GVWR 24klb.
