2025 Ram 5500 Parked! Update

EGT sensor. Bank 1 sensor 5
I think the following ... if someone above the dealer with a bit of clout decided to fix this, there HAS to be a sensor available somewhere that could be overnite shipped in, installed the next day, and a call to Mr. HDFarmer saying "sorry for your trouble, your truck is fixed and ready to be picked up now".

I'd suggest asking the dealer for a regional Canada contact you can make, if they don't provide that should be easy enough to find someone to call with an online search. This just can't keep going on ...

Oh well it got better today, sensor showed up installed with no change Apparently the schematic is wrong. As per the code that comes up(bank 1 sensor 5) sensor 5 is actually sensor 7 so a totally different module Service bulletin incoming. Been trying to replace wrong sensor. Sure hope the techs get a clothing allowance so they can buy a helmet for when they’re beating their head on the wall.

Would you be able to post DTC code that was active?

I have no doubt that Ram is experiencing a quality control problem with parts. Until they weed out the sub par actors this will continue. I also believe there are suppliers that still take pride in what they do and I applaud them for that. It seem we live in world where you no longer have to be good at your job, you just have to show up. I’m hopeful Ram makes this right because I’ve lost to much revenue already

Parts shortages like that are simply unacceptable.

The dealer should be pulling the part needed off a truck on the lot, if the parts supply chain is that much of a failure.

Prioritizing sales over the service of a customer that’s already purchased a truck with a warranty is just bad business.

This.

My 2026 had the transmission valve body fail(?) at 50 miles. No eta on the replacement part but dealer gave me a 2500 rebel off the lot to drive and told me at day 30 they would pull the part out of a truck on the lot. Part arrived on day 28 and all has been well.

Unbelievable. It certainly is a different world out there. Pull the part from another truck and send the guy down the road. Sad and again sorry for your troubles Farmer.

As I’ve said before, this is my only work truck as well as the truck that services our farm needs. This is effectively a 1/4 of a years revenue lost as well added expenses of hiring transportation of farm goods. I’m getting no progress with FCA Canada in order to come to some kind of resolution. Dealership have been great at updating me with the information that they’ve been provided. Ram Trucks are not leaving me many options. Really wish my post on here are more about achievements and ability of this truck but this is not the case

I would imagine that any and all parts on the truck is married to the vinn # so they would not be able to pull parts off any other truck. But with that said why isn't there parts available for owner owned trucks?

It’s a sensor, not an engine or transmission.

Those parts would be universal, or maintenance would be an actual nightmare for dealers.

It's isn't the suppliers, it's the auto manufacturers whose sole concern is making parts as cheap as possible.
