2025 Power Wagon Tail lights issue while hooked up to trailer

Hello,
I purchased my first Ram this year and am concerned with a very strange issue I am having. I hooked up to a 12 ft trailer and my tail lights started a strange blinking sequence. First they both turn off, then the left one blinks, then the right one blinks, then both blink with the reverse lights and cargo light joining in. This sequence continues and the trailer lights blink with the taillights until the trailer is unplugged. I tried it on my boat trailer and got the exact same results. I have absolutely no idea what is going on . Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think that’s the trailer light check sequence.

Not sure when they added but I know my 2020 doesn’t have it, but it would be nice to have.

Wow. I'm still getting used to this truck. I didn't even know it had that (dealership didn't even bring it up). Thank you! That's probably what it is.

Mine has a trailer light test selection but I have to initiate it. It doesn't do it on its own.

Starting with the '25's it's auto. My 21 was manual start.

Not sure I like that!
Instead of coming up with new automatic junk they should concentrate on getting the old automatic junk to work correctly...
