marlow.v2,Following this one closely. Ordered a '26 3500 and the air-in-housing issue is the one thing making me nervous about the new platform. Good to see people documenting the filter change procedure properly – the one-canister-at-a-time tip from @MacksRam is gold, that's the kind of detail the dealer service advisors never mention. If the redesigned lid with auto purge really is coming, any word on whether it'll be a warranty retrofit or only on new production?
I don't think this is a major issue on the 2025-2026 Rams. The deal is--a person just has to take "extra time" to change the fuel filters---until the redesigned lid is available---I would not hold my breath on this new lid being released anytime soon. It appears to me they typically only speed up the issue IF it is considered a "safety" issue.
I wonder what steps the mechanics follow in the dealership shop to change the fuel filters? Another reason I wanted to do my best to prevent air in the lines is because I did not want to have to overwork the starter!
