I spoke with Atmus Filtration (Fleetguard) regarding availability of the filters. The oil filter is not yet listed as “sellable” but the fuel filters are. I’m waiting for a return call on their availability, whether it is currently out or if availability is scheduled soon. I’ll keep everyone updated.IMG_1244.jpegIMG_1245.jpeg

The OEM Mopar MO285 / Fleetguard LF3972 has always been a 30 micron filter. Rated 30 micron at 95% efficiency.

This new filter is at least more efficient, being 30 micron at 99.8% efficiency.
I recall the original Sartopore filter was like 20 micron then later some said it went to 25 micron thus 30 is not 25, IMO a step backwards, I sure hope Donaldson will come out with one similar to the EFL 15 micron

The OEM filter for these trucks (2024 and older 6.7)has always been the Mopar MO285. That filter is a Fleetguard LF3972 painted grey with Mopar’s logo embossed on it. They are both use a cellulose media with a 30 micron at 95% rating. You could “upgrade” to the Fleetguard LF16035 which has a Stratapore synthetic media and carries a 30 micron at 100% efficiency rating, with an ancillary 10 micron at 60% efficiency rating.
The best oil filter you could get for a 2024 and older 6.7 is the Donaldson DBL7349 which is also a synthetic media filter and carries a 15 micron at 99% efficiency.

The LF3972 has had two different ratings over the years, but likely no change to anything other than beta ratio. 30um @ 95% or 35 @ 98.7%.

The Fleetguard LF16035 has also had two different ratings. 30um @ 100% or 25um @ 98.7%.

It’s also nice to see the flow rating of the filter increases since the LF3972 and LF16035 weren’t rated for the same flow the oil pump was.

This new oil filter is definitely not a step backwards.

Never knew that. I wonder why the change?
