Not according to this towing capacity chart on Ramtrucks.comDid the HEMI 2500 get the same GVWR increase?

That really makes it seem like the GVWR number is a complete farce. Not according to this towing capacity chart on Ramtrucks.com
No. Ram scales GVWR with curb weight to keep payload relatively constant across a model…unless they’re up against an administrative/class limit. That really makes it seem like the GVWR number is a complete farce.
I’m not sure I understand/believe that since they penalized the diesel when the GVWR was 10k.No. Ram scales GVWR with curb weight to keep payload relatively constant across a model…unless they’re up against an administrative/class limit.
You can’t hold curb weight constant. Pick which of the other two you want to hold and which one to have variable.
Like I said, until it hit an administrative limit. Look at the ratings charts going back ten years.I’m not sure I understand/believe that since they penalized the diesel when the GVWR was 10k.
There has been a lot of discussion on here about air vs non-air setups with good points made on both sides. One topic I haven't seen on this thread and my reason for deciding to go with a non-air 3500 is I tend to keep vehicles for quite a while. My last Ram was 18 years old when I sold it and right or wrong I have a bit of distrust for higher technology systems over long term ownership. I intend to keep my current truck for 15 years, live in the salt belt and just didn't want to worry about corroded fittings, moisture getting into the system, the technology involved etc over that time period.
I am probably a minority these days in length of ownership and purposefully selecting lower tech options but figured I would throw it out there.
It is the ones with 5th wheel prep group. Just bought one.Has anybody else seen this payload/towing chart and can you explain how one obtains the new for 2025 11,040 GVWR on the 2500?
"* Applies to vehicles produced with sales code Z2K/Z7G/Z3Y"
but I can't figure out what those sales codes mean and when I build I can't see anything that looks like it would effect this. This is HUGE for the fifth wheel guys that want to keep the nice riding 2500 suspension but are concerned about payload for a fifth wheel! I'm just curious what this option actually is and how you get it. This boosts diesel payload 850 pounds over the next lower GVWR!
