Ok, update on the situation…
1. Service couldn’t get it going fast enough recreate it
2. Sales Manager agreed to ride with me and understood my frustration
3. The dealership brought up another mega cab from one of their other stores so I could compare… it was PERFECT and after driving a second one I realized that the the one I bought felt very harsh and unrefined at lower speeds too compared to one that was not defective.
4. The dealer worked with me to back out the deal and sell me the second truck so I wouldn’t be stuck waiting in a fix… I wanted white… wound up with forged blue which is objectively a prettier truck, but I was pretty open to options… felt like it was the least of the less than ideal options
5. FWIW, the service manager said he found two bulletins or internal memos or something that could be the issue, one for driveshafts, one for an exhaust issue… he said the exhaust issue does not have a fix defined yet… (seems easy enough to me… replace the exhaust and see if that fixes it)
Let me also share how much I appreciate this forum, I have had these trucks for 7 years now and the information shared on these pages has saved a ton of head aches.
I will never buy a car without getting it out on the highway again.
