New here, just bought my 3rd Ram, 2025 2500. I had been looking for a new truck in the Portland area for a few weeks and decided to look further out and see what was there. All local dealers had just a $1000 rebate on these trucks so I was surprised to see Lithia in Eugene was offering $3500 rebate. Wife and I decided to drive the 90 miles to Eugene to look. I was interested in looking at the Forged blue metallic but the salesman had a charcoal color truck waiting for me. I ended up taking that truck for a test drive because they gave me some different stories as to where the blue truck was. (Long story). After about 2 hours they located the blue truck and I decided to buy it. I got a pretty good deal on it with the rebate, dealer discount and my employee price as I am retired from Mopar. I chose not to test drive the blue truck as I had driven another similar truck and it had gotten late in the day and Eugene traffic was a nightmare. We finally left and all the way home I could hear this groaning sound along with a vibration in the drive train. The salesman called me two days later and asked how I liked the truck. I told him about the noise/vibration and he said he would talk with the service department. He called back and said it probably needed to be broken in and to just drive it. I drove it around locally and felt it was getting worse so I took it to a local dealer and explained my concerns. They had it for a week and test drove it several times putting 42 miles on it. The service adviser kept me posted daily but had no idea what was wrong. they acknowledged there was a noise vibration. First report said it could be in the torque converter, drive shaft or differential. They called me to come pick up the truck. He handed me the work order which stated they acknowledged the noise and vibration but said they had a Chrysler engineer come and drive it and a similar truck and both trucks were the same. I decided to take it back to Lithia in Eugene yesterday. I dropped it off with the Service department and will wait for their thoughts. Sorry for the long winded explanation. One thing I did do was ask for a test drive in a similar model. I know these trucks have a groaning kind of sound to them but I felt no vibration. If anyone here has had a similar experience I would like to hear that.

Thanks for reading, Lee

I picked up my 2025 CTD Bighorn on July 23th. It also had a vibration on the highway , i found the tires all had 80-90 psi and when reduced to door recommended 60 psi it went away.
Also coming from a Hemi 1500, i noticed when driving 50-55 mph it seems a little rough like it is lugging , not smooth like a 1500.

I have learned since I moved to the PDX area 6 years ago is that most Ram dealers don't want to work on trucks the didn't sell, I know as I drove to ID to buy my 2022 because they all wanted $5k over MSRP and my trip to ID cost me under $500 for food an lodging, its then that I learned how stupid Ram dealer can get like Dicks Dodge was until Tonkin took them over and still not the best but its one of the few Ram dealers who will do warranty work on trucks they didn't sell.

My truck doesn't vibrate but depending on how sensitive to NVH you could say mine groans a little from the drivetrain sometimes. I never thought about it and chalked it up to 3/4 ton truck. My tires are louder now so I don't really notice.

Your'e probably right. I had bought my Ecodiesel there in 2014 and I knew most of the people that worked there because I had a parts store in that town for twelve years which I sold before I went to work for Mopar. A mega dealer bought the place recently and several people left.

Picked up my truck at the Dealer in Eugene OR yesterday. First mistake was going there on game day but that's another story. They said the same thing as the tech from Chrysler. "Vibration is normal for this vehicle. Vehicle works as designed."I find this hard to believe. When I dropped it off last Monday I asked for a test ride in a similar truck and felt no vibration. Ride was 15-20 minutes and he had it up to 80mph at one point. I will talk to my neighbor next (diesel 4wd mechanic) and get his opinion. Probably get a consultation with a lemon law lawyer after that.

A light groan is one thing, but if you can actually feel vibration, that usually points to something more than break-in. Good call comparing it to another truck - if yours feels different, that’s worth pushing on.

My 22 has never had any grinding noise or driveline vibrations and to say its normal IMHO is BS, my 06 did not have it or any number of others 2500s trucks I've ridden in...

I want to update my situation with my 2025 Ram 2500 with Cummins. My neighbor drove my truck 2 days ago and checked it out thoroughly. He confirmed it definitely has a very noticeable vibration. I don't really want to reveal who he actually works for yet and what he does, but he is definitely qualified to evaluate these trucks. I talked to a lawyer yesterday and was told I need one more attempt to repair this truck at a Ram dealer according to Oregon's Lemon law. The dealer they want me to see is a month out on appointments so I will see them on Oct 6th. I also want to thank member 56ram2500 who went for a test ride with me yesterday. He confirmed the vibration is there. He is a wealth of information.

If you're out of PDX, the dealership in St. Helens is usually pretty easy to get and appt. with. Who knows, they might even fix it for you.

I am doing what my attorney suggests.
Right, I suggested St. Helens because they are in Oregon and thought maybe two birds/one stone. See another Oregon dealership and perhaps actually get it fixed. Good luck with it. I hope it gets taken care of.

Thanks, not much is going to happen for the next month but I will post when know something.

Vibrations are the worst. It's so hard to figure out because a dozen different things could be the cause. Bad wheel(s), bad tire(s), one or both driveshafts, t-case, torque converter, sticky brake caliper, there is a laundry list of things that can cause vibes on the highway. Rams seem to be notoriously bad. My '22 Ram 1500 Laramie shook from day 1. Multiple trips to the dealer could not resolve it. They replaced tires, did balancing on them a few times, inspected shafts, etc. It wasn't until I replaced the wheels and tires both with aftermarket parts that my vibes went away.

Well I have an update to my original post. I dropped the truck off Monday morning at the dealer. Very nice service adviser by the way. He had the service manager go for a 4-5 mile test drive with me. It was about 8:30 in the morning and traffic was fairly heavy and I didn't really feel the vibration as much as usual. However the service adviser I was dealing with just called me and said the service manager had felt the vibration. He said they will try to get it on a lift today. They have a tool to try to pinpoint the vibration. After 3 months I feel like I might be getting somewhere. I will update when I hear more.
