Just bought 2024 Ram 2500, not even 1,000 miles driven, transfer case output shaft seal leaking. Is this a known defect?

The Mopar 68161329Aa transfer case output shaft seal is the replacement part # for the 2012 to 2024 Ram 2500/3500s. We have 2014, 2016, and 2024 Rams 2500/3500 4x4's all currently parked around our home. None of the seals have been replaced and none leak.

Is the new seal nmber an updated part or just the same as original? I am having the seal replaced this Thursday. Just inquiring.

I don't have that information and can't guarantee that the number provided is correct.

I had an issue on mine once I had about 45k on it, if I recall when investigating there were some threads about assembly lube that may appear as a leak when the vehicle is new but will tend to dry up after 3 to 5 k miles…

Have to confirmed it’s a leak, or do you just have some stuff slung around under there? I’d check level too

Dealer did mine on warranty, quick in and out, 15k miles since and bone dry

Any one know how to contact RamCares to assist with this issue?
