2024 Order Tracking & Discussion

Build times, don't see to be to bad. Ringer now will be strike impacts
It’s funny how much conflicting information is seen about whether or not Saltillo, MX is affected by the strikes. Some say no because it’s Mexico, but others claim it’s likely; wish there was solid information. My truck is finished but sitting there because of either the strike or some other unknown reason. Then again people have said there truck has shipped even when you’d think it wouldn’t since the strikes started.

The truck is assembled in Mexico but I'm sure the parts for it come from all over the world, so if even one part comes out of a US factory with a UAW contract then obviously there could be an impact. It's a question of which plants have a strike or layoff and how many parts they have on hand before they run out. For example, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_Transmission says that the 68RFE is made in Indiana.

Edit: Just found confirmation of that at https://media.stellantisnorthamerica.com/newsrelease.do?id=349&mid=, and the PDF linked on there has a good bit of other stuff that may end up on the HD trucks from US plants, but hard to say for sure. In any case, there is definitely a good chance something will be impacted.

Most likely sitting there until the rail transport has a certain number of trucks to haul. Not monetarily feasible to ship trucks out as they are assembled. Yours should be on the way soon.

For anyone curious about the actual shipping times, the order tracker shows shipped on 9/20 and MD confirmed on Friday that the truck was on a train with an estimated arrival to Port Allen, LA on 10/4. They indicated that once it's at Port Allen it can take anywhere from "1-21 days" to be transferred to their lot. The estimated date showing on the tracker is still 10/13 which is just about in the middle of that range.
Truck arrived at Port Allen on 10/2, so there definitely doesn't seem to be any issues with getting enough rail cars at the factory or trains getting across the border.

Curious to see how long your shipping takes since mine is also coming to AK (Lithia in ANC). Build completed on 8/16 but not shipped yet according to the tracker. Current ETA 3 November.
Arrived at Anchorage Chrysler Dodge Ram today. Pick it up on Friday just due to scheduling. So shipping took from 8/30 to 10/4.

@brv10 You mind checking out 3C63R3JL0RG129191? Changed to TBD about three weeks into the Mexico->AK journey. The dealer can’t get tires in a timely fashion due to the strikes so hopefully that doesn’t become a problem.

I get my news on the strike from https://www.autonews.com/live-blog/uaw-strike-deadline-nears-live-updates
They don't do as good at "recapping" so you kind of have to follow along.
It's not super detailed, but you can use it to dispell some times the facebook nonsense.

For ordering, we have not had any instructions or changes in availability at all related to strike.
Transport has been NORMAL which is to say still not the most detailed or predictable, but there haven't been any complete logjams - just the incidental outliers.
JEEP ordering is still open, no strike related restrictions, and I actually just had one jeep get inspected and move to body vendor this past week. THAT was surprising, and is the only physical movement on a Wrangler or GLadiator since the start, except for vehicles that were complete and just waiting transport. They are otherwise still being accepted orders, assigned VINs, and even D1s with prospective dates (I'm not reading further into that, I'm assuming it's just sequencing and spittting out a date)

The only memos of any substance we've gotten from Stellantis on the matter have been related to the parts distribution, not actual production.

Mexico has a different union and the RR is not affected, any transportation done by Teamsters could be. Any parts that need to be shipped to Mexico will be affected.

For those that are anxiously awaiting their new truck to be built here is the status of my patriot blue 24 Longhorn 3500 crew cab long bed dually.

I ordered the the truck right before the price increase on 9/13 and the dealer made sure the order was also confirmed on 9/13. 14 days later the order was scheduled in 9/27. Production started on 10/10. The build completed on 10/13 with the build sheet showing up the same day. The window sticker showed up this morning, 10/16 and the unit has a status of KZ.

30 days from order to a built HD truck seems reasonable to me. Now the wait until the truck gets delivered.

Aahh, the land of KZ!
Tell me about it, mine has been sitting at Port Allen waiting for a truck to take it the last 2 hours to Mark Dodge since 10/2. Sooo close and yet...

VIN is 3C63R3SL5RG150083 if your crystal ball is any better than the dealer's at figuring out why that's taking so long. :)

Is it possible to tell if my truck is scheduled on a specific train for shipment or if it is waiting for a spot to be scheduled? My serial number is 3C63RRKL2RG185201.
The Ram truck web page estimates a delivery date of 12/26. Based on discussions in this thread I understand that date will change a lot once the truck starts to move.

You’ve given me a little bit of hope! Ordered a Laramie 3500 Cab Chassis on 9/18. It was confirmed on 9/19. The UAW strike worries me that it will take a loooong time to be built. Being that I ordered it from a small town dealership (closest “big” city is 120 miles away) concerns me too. Finger crossed I get a build date soon.
