Yeah, I would have loved 14.5" but not if they still nerf Android Auto to 8" max!

But anyway, the 68RFE has 6th gear ratio 0.62:1 with the 3.73, and my F150 10th gear ratio is 0.63:1 with a 3.73. I figured with a smidge more wind and rolling resistance my commutes will only be a few MPG worse. I'm not sure the final 8th gear would be much better on the new transmission. It's likely just more efficient in city start/stop and acceleration not at Hwy speeds.

BTW, I've advanced. If @brv10 can assure me it's just waiting for a train, that would be awesome! 3C63R3FL6RG274339

How does everyone that ordered in the last few months feel with the ZF transmission news on the 2025's coming out today?

I’m very glad I ordered a 2024..

No thanks to a 14.5” screen- 12” is already overkill- I’ll give it a week and swap to the 8” if I hate it which I fully expect I will. And being able to use a cell phone to start your truck instead of the key….bad idea.

Not a fan of the 2025 1500 front end- I’ll stick with the 4.5 since I actually like it a lot.

Onto the trans-
8 speed is not necessary.
Auto park- no thanks
Dash switch - no thanks
No dip stick and not service friendly
Might be stronger than 68rfe as is but I can bet it will be more expensive to rebuilt/upgrade.
I’ve had 47rh, 47re 48re and my father has the 68rfe- it shifts nicely and I’ve enjoyed it. I’ll stick with something less complicated thats been out for 17 years.

You are now KZT as of 3/4 on a 12 day rail trip on railcar TTGX160433 to Twin Oaks yard for the truck ride to Country CJDR

brv10, Can you get a update on mine when you have time? 3C6UR5JL5RG283850. Thanks

I'm late to the party obviously, but how does @brv10 have insight on tracking? He's a very good asset to this forum. Thank you for what you do for us kind sir.

Similar to when we used to have help on the Ford order tracking threads, I assume he is an anonymous employee with the same internal-only view that dealers have access to. Wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize that in that he's doing the Lord's work here for completely nothing in return.

Agreed, Lord's work for sure.

Ram Website deleted the 10% rebate for the 24 HD models yesterday. The small rebates like first responders, etc still apply of course. The build app is still showing the old msrp- my guess it will be updated soon since Rams website is an awful POS anyways.

Dealers building trucks post 3/6 do have the new pricing. The new pricing on a Laramie 3500 level 1 is not as good as the 10% was- close though. Options like bed group, 5th wheel hitch are the same price as before. Only thing that changed was the overall truck msrp and the level 1 and B packages. If that helps anyone.

My opinion is Ram couldn’t keep this rebate past Q1 - Q1 sales usually usually blow in this industry since tax refunds are not back and it’s Xmas recovery time so it helps with their numbers, trying to keep this rebate all year cheapens the truck and the lower msrp is kinda hidden to the general public. It’s also probably better for the payment calculator for interested buyers since a majority of buyers don’t care about rebates- they care if they can qualify for a vehicle and their monthly payment.
@LegendaryLawman Apologies if this is obvious, but in your second paragraph you mentioned that Dealers have the new pricing. Did the MSRP change for the HD trucks? Makes it sound like MSRP went down?

Here is my understanding from my fleet dealer (I don't think I'm breaking any rules since the Build&Price has been updated today):

Last week they internally said they are re-MSRP'ing the heavy duties instead of just trying to make up for it in rebates. So existing inventory will all get restickered (next to the original, I guess it is illegal to remove the original), and anything "built" after Mar6 will get the new MSRP. They had from Mar6-13 to finalize all the re-invoicing. He felt obligated to tell me since I (as are others here) ordered with old price and 10% rebate, but truck technically isn't invoiced until after the Mar6 cutoff. But the point was the order protection will still be in effect.

On the Build&Price update today, I rebuilt my exact truck and it is only $4500 lower than original MSRP. So for me the old price plus 10% rebate is better. Supposedly the new incentives should also bring it to around the old MSRP-10% but the incentive page is still "contact your local dealer" as of me typing this. I have been refreshing the Build&Price and incentives a few times per day because this whole thing is fascinating to me.

This will be a painful rollout where things are broken during the rollout window. I'm glad I have everything in writing on the previous price extended to me, because it still might be buggy on delivery day. I'm completely ok if the order date price is "worst case", any benefit would just be gravy.
