2023 Trailer Light Check - does yours work ? Mine doesn't

I confirmed it is set to yes. ..I even flipped it off and back on to make sure all was good .. it is also stated on by build sheet that it has Trailer light check ... very strange. I did make a couple of changes with AlfaODB prior to ever trying the light check.. I changed my DRL's to the turn signals, set a Power Wagon startup screen and enabled remote start. Not sure if any of them messed it up somehow.
How about trying a factory reset on the radio. That seems to have solved a blinker camera issue everyone was having on the 2023’s.

Thanks!!! .. doing the full factory reset on the radio resolved it - Light Check works! Now I just have to reconfigure all the rest of my stuff .... :)
I have the same issue. So you went into settings>system>reset is that correct. I did a soft reset by holding in the 2 circular knobs for 10 seconds, but that did not work.

You have to do a full factory reset option under the reset menu.
OK, I did a soft reset earlier while driving and it did not work. Got home and turned the truck off and went back out to try the hard reset. Before I did that, I tried the light check again and it now works. So maybe an alternative is a soft rest, then cycle power?

Sorry I didn’t reply earlier, it’s been a busy couple days. Glad you got it working though!

It’s starting to seem like a “factory reset” needs to be the first thing every new ‘23 (and probably ‘24) owner does when they get home.

I know this is an old thread but I'm not having the same issue. My 2023 has been working correctly to test my 5th wheel lights since new last July. After a recent recall was done My trailer light test no longer initiates when I press the activate button on the 12" display. I sure hate to have to do a factory reset on the head unit, who knows what will or will not work after that. The button on the touch screen sort of changes color gradient when pressed but nothing happens when released.

Mine is doing the same thing. I have not had it in for any service/recall yet. The light test worked a week ago when I picked up my camper, then when I went to take it back to storage, the light test wasn't working. Additionally, the trailer tow page on the radio (that show's the trailer breaks and other gauges) stopped working as well; all the gauges show 0.

Well, mine decided to work when I tried it, after I got to the camp ground, not sure what might have changed.

Wish I could help you more, all I can say is on my 2024 Power Wagon it works with the u-connect 12 in screen by just pushing the same button as was shown above.

So just curious, is the trailer light check no longer in the EVIC on the full digital instrument cluster? I just retrofitted a 2023 full digital cluster into my truck and trailer light check is missing in the EVIC, and of course the Uconnect trailer light check has never worked for me.

Trailer light check is only on the UConnect trailer pages on ‘23+.

thanks for reviving this old thread. The trailer pages not working was on my list of things for the dealership to look at. I decided to do a full radio reset back to factory/default and that did seem to fix the issue. All the gauges are working now when they were not before.

I have yet to try the light check but hope to be able to hook up the trailer in the next couple weeks to test it.

Just like cellphone and computers, when its acting stupid do a restart.

That seems to be the answer for most, unfortunately for me, 3 factory resets later and none of the gauges on the Uconnect work, and the Trailer light check still doesn't work.

I noticed on the Uconnect it always says in the top right corner of the Towing app "trailer connected" even when there is no trailer connected, don't know what that's all about.

I sure hate to do a factory reset, kind of like reinstalling windows on a computer and starting over.... never had to do that on my Macbook. I'm still pretty much an android guy and having this uconnect randomly work / not work sux! $110K for a truck with a radio that is quirky and glitchy is not cutting it. Rant complete.... still dreading a full factory reset... soon I'll get it done.

It wasn't really that bad, almost like disconnecting your battery in the old days. Re-pair your cellphone, re setup radio pre-sets, and other settings.

I do agree, it's ridiculous to have to do these things on these vehicles. They're not cheap and neither is the technology.

@Jimmy07 I feel like I've asked you before, but have there been any updates to the trailer brake module between our older trucks with UC5 retrofits and the 2022+ trucks? Or is there a different trailer towing module that needs to be updated/swapped out to be able to speak to the Uconnect 5's? Other than trailer TPMS, which IIRC did require a new module for the UC5, nothing seems to work in the trailer pages for me.

Same trailer tow module part number is used from 2019-2024.
