Morning Gents,

I’ve been reading about the issue’s people have been having with UConnect 5 and the infotainment system in the 2022 trucks. For those of you who have your 2023 trucks, are you having any issues with the infotainment system and UConnect 5?

My android auto disconnects from my phone a lot while listening to Amazon Music. I haven't been able to determine if it's the truck, phone, or Amazon Music.

I have the 12" in my 22 and the only issues ive had are the occasional restart. its happened maybe 2x in the first year+ ive had the truck.

Just drove from Des Moine to Anchorage. We used nearly every aspect of the 12 inch uconnect. There are some minor software organization annoyances but otherwise the system was functional without any reboots.

Funny note, we were coming up to Palmer getting close to home and the navigation rerouted to Valdez, told us to take a ferry to whittier then drive to Anchorage. Checked the Glenn highway FB page and it was momentarily closed for an accident.

The navigation system also rerouted us in Alberta to avoid wildfires. The smoke was thick enough to cause interference with gps so it was a lesson to not totally rely on the navigation system.

I think Ram/Stellantis is finally getting on top of the issues with uConnect5. Much lower volume of complaints in the last few months compared to the last couple of years. The 12" u5 system in my '22 has been great so far.

Sometimes my radio stays on after I turn off the engine and open the doors. I have to restart the truck and then turn it off. Then the radio turns off.

The only persistent issue I have is that when starting up, it wants to default to my Home screen (split with Carplay and Media) even if I have Carplay selected. The only way to get Carplay back to full screen is to toggle back and forth to Home and Carplay to refresh it.

Anyone else get that one?

In general, it is pretty smooth and even with this issue I love it.

I have this pop occasionally as well but if I just put it in reverse, the back up cam pops up and then when I move into drive after backing out of my driveway it opens CarPlay as it should.

Works good - only issues I've noticed

-Blind spot cameras dont turn on when using turn signal, even though the option is on. Many people have reported this issue.
-Temps dont show when viewing them in the off road screens
-Uconnect wouldnt connect to CarPlay, wired or wireless once. Started working again the next morning.

Ah, good call. It’s less frustrating to just let it fix its self after backing up. Still hoping this gets fixed properly - seemingly relatively simple.

I found a decent workaround. If you remove the split CarPlay window from being in any of the home screens, the problem goes completely away (loads the full screen CarPlay window every time). Not Ideal as sometimes it would be nice to actually have it split but much less annoying now!

Morning Gents,

I've had many issues with my 2022 12" infotainment system. It connects to my phone automatically but then flickers on and off after 10+ minutes of driving. I can't make phone calls when I first start driving anymore because I'll get cut off by the flicker. Usually the screen defaults to the Home screen but half the time it goes black and nothing works. I've found that unplugging my phone (when it is plugged in) and selecting Apple Carplay user account "off," and back "on," that does the trick occasionally. It's highly annoying and semi dangerous when it diverts attention away from the road. It isn't reliable enough to use for navigation either because the flickering on and off causes the system to lose its current position and erases the destination.

My new 23 Rebel with the 12" screen is very random. Carplay rarely connects to my phone via bluetooth, and then even if I plug my phone in via USB, it won't connect. Only way to solve it is a reboot. It never defaults back to anything when I start the truck. I never know what I'm going to get. I'll have the dealer look at it during my first service. My 2020 Jeep Gladiator that I bought 2 weeks ago (basic 5" UConnect) is just about as bad. Not sure what the issue with UConnect is, but 2 for 2 in my case.
