Does anyone have the 2023 chassis cab 3500/4500/5500 order guides they can share?

Same, emailed 2 local dealers to price out a 5500 with everything but the PTO, running boards and back up alarm. Returned 2 different prices and different configurations. Weird thing is they each were able to add different items. Are you hearing that only tradesman and limited can be ordered?

Just an fyi ! If interested. I have a 22 5500 laramie on route. My dealer convinced me to have extras put on like running boards etc at the dealer when it shows up. As they were seeing at times upto 2 months delay in “JB” status on their ordered trucks being stuck at vendors. I thought it was just a ploy to get more business but it was actually cheaper than factory install. And after reading these forums and all the guys being stuck in “JB” jail i realized my dealer was doing me a solid. I was built and went KZ ready for shipping within a 4 day window of estimated production date and skipped the JB status

@BigPapaBang I don't know about the other trim levels, but the hang up for me is the system wouldn't take a limited with the level 1 package. I am hoping that is cleared up now based on what I've seen on the 2500/3500 orders, still waiting to hear from the dealer..

@Pressure_welder Good info, but what exactly do you mean by running boards? The factory side steps (MRS or MRT), the Mopar ones (MRU) or something else? Thanks!

I would think this situation would apply more to non C&C trucks for the most part. But from what i understand the trucks roll off the line bare bones and then are sent i believe off site to vendors for things like boxliner, the typical ram running boards, i am not sure what else exactly. But this "JB" status is where the hang up is for alot of people. Prior to being shipped.

So basically i am having my truck skip this step as per the dealers recommendation, and having the typical RAM running boards installed when the truck arrives which would take all of an hour really. I dont know exact numbers but i can imagine based on what ive viewed here and dealers comments that getting these things installed at the dealer can save upto a month of additional wait time for your truck. "knock on wood" lol

Iam getting quite anxious for my 5500, its going to be my daily driver/family vehicle but also our new welding rig so itll have a fully outfitted welding bed on it. Sitting at roughly 4000lb mark with tools/welder etc. My only concern with this order was the potential ride quality, ive driven duallies for the last decade as daily drivers so i am used to trucks with not exactly perfect ride quality! I am hoping with the truck sitting at roughly 12,000lbs the ride quality will be similar to an unloaded 3500 dually. Everyone always says just throw a keldermen on! but i must say after a 100k truck purchase, 20,000$ welding bed i certainly cant afford to throw 15k into a keldermen as nice as that would be. Time will tell ! i am likely over thinking the ride quality far to much.

I originally wanted a Laramie only because the wife's only request was the 6 person seating because of the dog. Local dealer said as of right now they're only taking orders for tradesman and limited. When I have a minute I'm gonna fill out the above order forms for both a laramie AND limited to basically do the footwork for the local guys and see who can put it together for me. Whoever can get it right gets my business

Pretty tough to beat the limited and the real leather smell it lasts for years. They just want so much more from a laramie to limited jump. 10k difference up here in canada.

Hey would love to here how it turns out as a work truck and how easy it is to live with as family hauler/ daily with picks once ya get the bed on. :)

Will do ! Like i say. Iam very likely over thinking the ride. Words cant describe how pumped iam to get into this new platform though. Last cummins was a 15 limited dually. One thing i did find frustrating was the fact theres no 4:10 option on the 5500… whereas its stock on a 4500 which in all reality is an identical truck. I struggled big time with the 4500/5500 decision. The argument was between 4.10 or increased payload, for me i was so tired of worrying about pin weights when i hooked up to our 3500 drw welding rig so i just pulled trigger on 5500. as iam sure mileage isnt that astronomically better with 4.10 vs 4.44 maybe 2-3mpg? Could be same for all i know at 108 km/h. And i would think ride quality between the two would be quite compareable. Its so hard nowadays to make informed decisions. These sorts of trucks just dont exist on dealer lots so you cant even take one for a drive to get a feel for it.

Ya it sucks when you have to guess on such an important and expensive decision. What dealership did you go with?

I live in brandon mb, oddly enough was completely ghosted by both ram dealers here. Maybe thought i was joking but ya never called me back. Went with virden chrysler dodge which is about 40 min west of me. It has been an excellent experience so far there. See how smoothly the last portion goes when the truck shows up but id certainly buy from there again.

Has anyone been able to place a good order for a cab and chassis yet? My dealers are still unable to build my configuration...
I ordered my 2023, 5500 Reg Cab Chasis on Sept 15th, SLT model from my local dealer. But, nothing has changed on the Ram site when checking Vehicle Tracking since I first checked couple days after ordering. Just hope I get this truck in 3-4 months!

Still working on ordering here, but making progress. My order is now buildable in the system at least, although similar to the 2500/3500's both XN1 (trailer surround) and XG9 (trailer TPMS) have disappeared from the system. Hopefully the trucks will come equipped properly to just order those kits over the counter.

So you were able to order a 5500 SLT? I was told last week that only tradesman and limiteds were gonna taken initially. Gonna swing by another dealer on Thursday to try my luck on a build and order. First 2 couldn't get everything I wanted to load properly at least with the stuff that doesn't count as dealer accessories and it seems like both of them have been too busy to keep the communication open since they each haven't responded to texts since last week.

Yea I sure was, originally I had an order for a 5500 Tradesmen, but changed to a SLT the day I went into order my truck with my salesmen.

Still struggling to get my order in. One of the big volume dealers can order it and apparently has allocation, but their price isn't good and I'm looking to order local. Local dealer can't even configure a Limited as they don't have allocation for some reason.

There are a lot of posts in this section that will direct you to good dealers. MD in Lake Charles is one.

Im driving over 2000 miles to get my rig because the price is that good and I like road trips :)
