2022 Uconnect 5 12.0 Glitches

I didn't think the Uconnect 4 or 5 recognized the USB for that purpose any longer, I know dealers can do updates but did not think it was via the trucks USB ports.

This is from the Uconnect site: (which is why I thought that)

• Model Year 2020-2024 systems are updated over-the-air or at a certified Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® or Ram, FIAT® Brand dealership only. These model years will not have the latest USB updates available for customer download.
• Model Years 2019 and prior may have newer software available at dealers than what is provided on this site.
• For all Model Years—Contact your local dealer to request an update or to verify if your system software is up to date.
I've updated my 22 12" U5 system twice with a USB drive. Worked great.

You can update them via USB, there's just no official location the customers can download them from. There used to be a nice Google drive location that someone had put up, but apparently Stellantis got snippy about that.

I have just usually waited for the OTA, I feel like I have been lucky with the Uconnect 4 and 5 and haven't had any software issues with either one. I have added the Trailer TPMS and it never remembers my target pressure do not sure if that's the Uconnect or BCM issue.

The trick for that bug is to go into your vehicle settings, select a different trailer than the one you have TTPMS set for, then go back and select the right trailer. It will take a minute or so to display the pressure, but it always works for me.

Ya but it should not be that way. It should remember your target pressure and never say "....not configured...". I have had one truck that was ordered with the TTPMS and it worked flawless. Every truck I have added it to using AlfaOBD it has those bugs.

The only time I select a different trailer then back to the one I am using is when it gives that "not configured" message. But I have found if I give it a couple days that message will correct itself if I am not towing right away.

That doesn't set your target pressure to what it needs to be..in my case 80psi. After a few days it reverts back to the default 50psi.

Yeah, I know it's a work around. But it's better than not having it working. And it's better than waiting for Stellantis to fix it.

I ordered my truck with TTPMS and it has that issue, even through multiple UC5 updates.

Oh man that sucks. Buddy of mine has a 2020 3500 SRW with TTPMS and its been perfect. maybe its a UC5 thing.

Could be. My 18 2500 Laramie did not have that option.

But I'm okay with it now, since there is a work around. I was pretty frustrated until I found out about the hack. Still, it would be nice if they fixed it.

Anyone else on here have their 22 2500 with the 12" display in yet? My radio and apple carplay is super glitchy...

[MOD: Update file posted here: https://hdrams.com/forum/index.php?threads/2022-uconnect-5-12-0-glitches.7144/page-12#post-172414 ]
I have a '22 2500 and my display was super glitchy and occasionally rebooted itself. After 2 trips to the dealer including a 4 hour software reload, they have diagnosed it as a problem with the "sharkfin". I'm having it replaced next Wednesday.

Good Luck... Hopefully they order the "correct" shark fin... Ask me how I know.

0 chance that's going to help. The shark fin is literally just antennas and plastic.

Just did the UC5 upgrade last night, but my Bluetooth won't stay connected. Ive tried 3 different phones. Is this a glitch or defective module.

Went from UC4 to UC5 12, 21 ram 2500

I know you just installed it, but try a factory reset, for whatever reason factory resets help shake out a lot of bugs with these things especially after a software update. If the factory reset doesn't help, you may need a software update, and then another factory reset.

Factory reset several times, tried pairing and unpairing. Even disconnected the batteries and let it sit for an hour. Same result, I've narrowed it down to when it tries to launch Android auto it wiggs out.

The unit is a January of 25 it's pretty up to date. I think it's a hardware issue. They are going to mail me a new unit to swap it with.

I had a 2020 Ram 2500 with ttpms on 2 trailers. Never had an issue, was easy to configure, always had the correct pressure for each trailer. Now I have a 22 Ram 3500 and was hard to configure, actually was not able to set up on trailer 1. Had to use trailer 2. Since T1 would not allow me to set tire pressure. It defaulted to 405 and would not change. T2 default was 50 changed and worked for a month. Then would revert back to 50. Then it started saying not configured. The next time I started the truck or after a few miles it would work again, but revert to 50psi again. At least I could see each tire. Then yesterday started up went to change the settings (since figured I needed to) and not configured. I did change the trailer and then back still nothing. Thought it would reconnect like it had in the past. Nope never did. Then had a tire blow. Very frustrated with the new truck. Have the glitches with the phone also. And the trailer brake controller says it's disconnected. Had the trailer and the plug tested all works great with correct voltage. Seems the electrical is flawed.

Is you're uConnect all up to date on updates? The work around still works on my 22. A little frustrating I have to do it every time I tow (unless I leave the trailer connected between tows), but it's worth it for the peace of mind.

@Jimmy07 is there an update available for these that's newer than the one you linked in '22? My 24 is intermittently doing some strange stuff and I think an update would be the first place to start.

This is what I currently have.

That’s the newest for your truck, and stellantis has suspended all OTA updates for all their vehicles.
