2022 Ram Tow/Trailer Camera Options

Is this of any help to you?

Or this, and the posts above it?

Thanks for the info gprguy. It sounds like this person used the part I had a question about. This seems to verify that the little connector to the truck is proprietary and there isn't an "off the shelf" option that plugs directly into the truck end. I'll maybe look into options to bypass the proprietary fitting on the truck to run my shorter cable option.

The little part that connects into the factory plug is proprietary, but available from Mopar and the part number is in those links. If you go that way there is a RP-TNC to fakra cable you’d need off of Amazon also linked there. If you want to skip the factory style connector entirely you could just do fakra the whole way to the camera but I wouldn’t do that in a situation where it is getting disconnected and reconnected a lot - the connectors will probably wear out and there would not be a simple way to keep the disconnected ends clean.

Finally got to install the VsionWorks Camera the other day. I had a flatbed installed and they relocated the in bed 7 pin and 12 pin trailer plugs to the back of the flatbed, however they removed the Y cable that's used on the bumper and the plug they used for the 12 pin did not have power, so once I got the cables switched around we had power!

If you have the Furrion camera on your trailer already - it makes it really easy to mount the new camera to the Furrion housing and plug directly in the cable from the RV. This allows me to ditch the Furrion monitor that needed to be mounted on the dash. Haven't used the camera at night yet, but maybe once the Sun goes down I will hook it up and see how it looks.

This is a great alternative if you didn't opt for the Digital Mirror and Camera setup! With shipping etc it was around $522.00.

I just bought a '24 Bighorn and when I got home there were two boxes in the back seat. Turns out it's the trailer tow rear camera and the 360 trailer tow camera kit. I had no idea that it had these options. I only tow a 22' bay boat, so I may be able to use the rear trailer camera, but I definitely won't be able to use the 360 camera, correct?

I just fitted three of the four cameras from the 360 trailer tow kit to my 35' 5th wheeler and it works well. I would imagine that it wouldn't be necessary for a 22' boat trailer, and where would you mount them? The digital rear view camera on the other hand is fantastic. We just returned from a 3,570 mile round trip to Glacier NP, Yellowstone NP and Grand Teton NP and the images in that rear view mirror were like watching a National Geographic movie. Get that DRVM camera fitted asap, you'll love it.

I have a question regarding the digital rear view mirror. My 2022 PW that I bought used in 2024 came with the 4 trailer cameras that plug into the socket above the trailer and they work great. Since my truck also has the digital rear view mirror I want to make use of that also while trailering. I read on a post on this site that another 2022 PW owner bought part # 68525798AA and received the cable AND the camera. I looked for that part on the Moparparts.com eStore and found it with a picture showing the cable, camera, and some mounting hardware so I ordered it for $302 with shipping. I was hugely disappointed when only the cable arrived so I called the dealer and complained about paying that much for a simple co-ax cable and the camera should be, per all I've read, included. The dealer offered to take the cable back with a 20% restocking charge and that I would have to pay for the return shipping. I'd be out $110 for nothing with paying for shipping both ways and the restocking charge so I'm looking for either a work-around on the camera or perhaps buying a used camera from some Ram owner who's not using theirs. Any ideas Gents?

According to what I've read it should've been - Back Up Camera Kit - Mopar (68527599AA) https://store.mopar.com/oem-parts/mopar-back-up-camera-kit-68527599aa

Looks like bait & switch. I'm seeing the cable + camera + 2 clips. for that part #

Camera Kit part numbers are in this thread (which actually references THIS thread as well.)

Does anyone know if the trailer 360 surround camera will successfully perform its calibration to sync up the cameras if the front camera is not installed? I don’t see much use for the front camera and it would be a ton easier to not install that one on my particular trailer - all I really want are sides and rear.

2022 Ram if it matters.

I'm going to be installing the 360 cameras on the trailer I tow with my 2022 and I plan to leave out the front camera in the next few days. I'll let you know how it works.

I have a couple of questions I didn't see directly addressed in this thread that I could use your help with. I have a 2022 Ram that did not come with the 360 surround cameras but I would like to add the Trailer Aux 1 and Aux 2 camera kit. I have the trailer kit with the single camera and bought the 12 pin connector assembly for the back of the truck. My first question is do I need the CVPM for the 360 kit to make it work and does anyone know the harness part numbers and wiring diagram?

Welp, I have a 2023+ DRVM camera system installed on my trailer that won't work with my 2022. Wonder if anyone still has any of the 68527599AA kits laying around they didn't use...

Let me check the part number on the NIB kit I have at home tonight.
