2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I've been debating replying or not; this thread is to post and discuss builds/deals, I'm not sure this ongoing -- and frankly pointless -- debate needs to continue. Many members are ordering from these dealers. Many members have gotten their trucks as promised, and to the best of my knowledge, no one's been shut down or screwed on a deal. As it's been pointed out elsewhere upthread, guaranteed sales plus minimal lot time equals less cost. Volume sales (I know the person I worked with had over 100 in the pipeline) also gets preferential treatment.

If you're suspicious, order elsewhere. Pay more if it makes you feel better. I'm happy knowing I got a great price and didn't have to haggle at all. It's how car buying should be these days.
@ risk of Brutal putting me in timeout, I just gotta wonder where the suspicion comes from for a price 10-12% below MSRP, when I bought a truck 12 months ago at 16% below MSRP from a non-high-volume dealer (Towbin, in Vegas). Even dealer sales folks are wondering at these competitor pricing but Dennis has been doing it for YEARS and clearly non high volume folks have as well. Ok, asking for forgiveness now…

I’m in for a group ship to AZ (also in Goodyear) - if I end up ordering from LA.

Ahh yes the Chopper. I remember the ridiculous commercials those guys would run 17 years ago. Chop’em Chop’em!

Just placed an order for a 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie pearl white night edition 6.4, they told me it will be at least August till I see the truck
Nice choice! On 5/15, I ordered a 2022 Laramie 3500 Pearl White Night Edition HEMI.

I think you may also need the "Trailer Camera Wiring (no camera)" option....so when the camera XH7 is wired on your trailer that wiring harness is able to plug into the trucks wiring harness. What it does is deletes the 7-way trailer connector and turns it into a 12-way connector. I'm pretty sure this is the case. If you didn't add it to your order now and it requires the 12-way connector you can add it later to your truck...just much easier if it comes wired from the factory. This happened to many of the guys that ordered the 2019's when they first came out with the so called wireless trailer camera...when it finally came out as a Mopar accessory it was a wired camera......they added it later. I'm trying to confirm through my dealer in PA.

The mirror will definitely have two coax cable connectors for switching between the two cameras, and the truck will need to be prepped with the tow mode camera coax going to the bumper. I discovered the PCB for the 2021 digital mirror is actually prepped for the tow mode camera- View attachment 18300
The question is, is the tow mode camera coax cable automatically run back to the bumper or rear facia harness when equipped with the digital mirror regardless of whether the two mode camera is optioned. Then, getting the connection to the trailer- not that Ram hasn’t done some mind boggling things before, but it would be a head scratcher if they didn’t utilize the 12-way connector. That would be a third trailer to truck connection if equipped with trailer surround view and tow mode rear mirror camera. I’m sure they’ve had all the pins on the 12-way designated since they first put it in use, and the way I would think the designations are is:
Aux camera 1 is three wires for the camera output, which also doubles as the trailer surround view CVPM output when equipped.
Aux camera 2 is three wires for the camera output.
The trailer surround CVPM will also use four other pins- power, ground, and canbus IHS HI/LO, with power and ground pin locations doubling as the power and ground for the two aux cameras.
Then the remaining two positions for the digital tow mode camera signal and shield broken out of the coax cable.
At least, that’s my best guess, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I hadn't finalized my order yet so asked to have the Trailer Camera Wiring prep added to my build. When added, it removed the Towing Tech Group. Only thing I noticed is that the Towing Tech Group is $100 more for the 22s, hoping that means they added whatever wiring is required and it's not just a price hike.

We'll see I guess. I can always add the harnesses afterwards if I have to...or just sell the Camera and forget about it.

It should include the wiring,we have 2 pallets of the camera kits at work, not sure why that package would eliminate the towing tech group.

EXACTLY! I bought my 2015 Limited, MSRP $70,640 for $58K. Bought my 2018 Limited, MSRP ~$75K for $61K. $10 - $15K off MSRP has ALWAYS been the norm.

Folks, let's stay on topic. This thread is discuss your BUILDS and ORDERS.

Start a new thread if you want to discuss how dealers get to their pricing. If it continues here, the posts will get moved or deleted depending on my mood and available time.
OK, based on this comment, I'm not sure what you want to see in this thread and what you don't want to see. Do you only want to see build sheets? Well, that would be pretty boring after reading about five of them. Who cares if someone ordered the Snow Chief Group on their new truck? It's much more interesting to hear who they ordered from, how they were treated when they ordered, how much they paid, how the negotiations went, what the dealer said, and how to get the best deal when you order. That's what's being discussed here and you seem to have a problem with that.

The Night Edition looks great. However, our build was already so highly priced that I avoided all cosmetic additions. Last night my wife called me and said she was sitting next to an all black 3500 dually and that it was absolutely gorgeous and then asked what we needed to order to get that look. Either fortunately, or unfortunately, we have already ordered and can't change it.

Those are all great deals. That's the deals I always thought you could get too although I have not bought a new truck in many years. I always thought the MSRP was typically inflated by about $10K. However now that I'm ready to buy today, this does not seem to be the case in today's over-heated market due to supply and demand. Many dealers are sticking to full MSRP (or close to it) because they know they can sell their limited stock at that price. I think the boom in RV trailer sales has increased the demand for heavy-duty trucks, and the chip shortage and other supply-chain problems has decreased supply. This is the formula for increased prices.

I think your dealer can request it be added… it’s up to Ram to accept or decline it.

That's not what was being discussed. The post was made after a long string of posts devolving into discussion about crooked dealers and possible scams perpetrated by well known discount dealers. Like I said earlier, too much FUD.

There is also a specific Price Negotiated From MSRP thread if anyone wants to get off into the weeds on detailed pricing.

I expected the thread would play out much the same as the 2021 builds and orders thread with discussions around build options and combinations folks are still trying to figure out, delivery timing, well as the other topics. Think of it like a technical how-to thread that goes off the rails (there are plenty of those too) and is no longer beneficial the the reader.

Last point; We try our best to keep things on track here and while we're not always perfect in execution or able to please everyone, moderator actions are not up for debate in public (see the site rules) and comments like "you seem to have a problem with that" are antagonistic and unnecessary. It's a thankless job that has to endure jabs from new members trying to flex. Careful poking the beer, keep calm and carry on.

Good morning,
I posted yesterday about the deal I received through Gary Spencer at Bud Clary in Moses lake Washington. For reference, his email again is [email protected]. The price he offered is invoice minus holdbacks. So far he has been awesome to work with!
That is pretty good indeed. Seems this would possibly be a better option for west coast buyers than Mark Dodge factoring in transport/fly&drive.

Lol I wonder if I can get Sandi to request a change on mine from the 6.4 hemi to the Cummins. It’s the one thing that I keep thinking about. I keep asking myself “should I have just forked up the extra 10k?”

Yes. If it’s not a 2500 with payload being important (i.e. my current truck) get the Cummins. Night and day different from my lightweight 400 ft/lbs Tundra V8. Heavy though!

I’m backing out of AVF now. It’s 1 camera, hardwired, and for $1000 there are a lot of well reviewed wireless multi-cam systems with spit screens. I never thought about always-on blind side traffic cameras assisting in lane changes etc. I’m crazy about making things look OEM and AVF is a wonderful option for that… just decided RAM’s a little slow on the new tech.

Along with what dragon said, the mileage is night and day different too. Unloaded I got 20-21 on the open road. 16.5 around town.
