2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

After almost 5 months of waiting my salesman called me this morning to let me know my truck is on the lot and ready for pick up! Just in time to break it in before going camping next weekend. We’ll see how the new Cummins HO compares to my old Duramax LBZ pulling my fifth wheel up the steep mountains.

VIN 3C63R3RL3NG317234
You’ll want to put some miles on it before towing. At least 500 but 1000 would be better. It’s not for the motor, no so much the transmission but the rearend..

Sandi must hate me. I’ve aske
This is promising. I ordered mine from MD on 6/22 and it looks like we’re following the same schedule pretty much. Mines still not showing an estimated delivery date, but Sandi says she’s showing 8/28 as an estimated ship date. Fingers crossed.
Sandi probably hates me. I’ve emailed her asking to many questions. I ordered 6/17 and it just recently went to scheduled but everything else still shows pending.

a truck can be built in a day, a window sticker will populate, but then comes the slow part again.
If you ordered a lot of options that will send it to a vendor your gonna be waiting.
Catching a train ride out of Mexico takes time and it’s not days.
After it reaches port it sets again
Shipping to the dealer timeline depends on the truck, a dually takes longer to ship then a single wheel.
Then after it reaches the dealer theirs a inspection, if a dent is discovered guess what happens next… Your gonna wait on the body shop to fix or replace, just depends on the location.

Just because the tracker says it’s built doesn’t mean you’ll have the truck in a few days or a few weeks so don’t get hysterical..
When the dealer calls and says congratulations it’s a boy then you can get excited…

Just FYI this type of progression from scheduled to built is relatively normal. The truck are built in a day basically so once it does into production everything between then and it being shipped should happen pretty quickly.
Yes…and no. It’s 8 hours from one end of the production line to the other, and then the tracker will show built, and KZLD. Not always true. If it has options not from the production line, then the truck is shipped to outside vendors and the build code is actually JB, which won’t be reflected on the tracker. There was nothing quick from there as I sat JB at the outside vendors for 58 days. It wasn’t until I finally left the outside vendor that my build code truly changed to KZLD, even though the tracker showed that lie for those 2 monthS. And there have been some who have sat in the parking lot waiting on a train out of Mexico for over 3 months…FWIW

I swear
All these guys in FB groups, half need to stick with a simple vehicle and have no business buying a diesel or gas truck whatsoever. Clueless and depend or other clueless to answer simple questions that they could find out with a simple google search or in a owners manual.
If you base them on the next generation of intelligence we are doomed………..

I am well schooled thanks to all the knowledge and experience on these forums.. I've more or less been patiently waiting since March and now to see "activity" makes me even more confident that the pooled experience of all of you have prepped me for a long ride. For that a big thanks to everyone!

Now, build sheets, updated statuses, and a looming window sticker has me cranked up. Not to mention a delusional sales person on my end giving me a good laugh. 10 days out of Mexico.....ah....no.

Anyhow, caffeine buzz over. Back to waiting and waiting and waiting. Thank goodness football season is here!!!

I had a 6.4l Hemi for a long time. I’m looking forward to being able to put my 2-ton loaded-up Arctic Fox in the back. With the mountain passes, it’s going to feel nice to stay at the speed limit with the HO diesel. We also travel 18 hours with it to the north of the province. I hope I'm buying the truck for the right reasons :)

Long as you know what oil to use, how much air to run in your tires, don’t stick it on 37’s and don’t want to pull a 45’ fifth wheel , wonder why it doesn’t get 20mpg, wonder why the aisin shifts to hard, think your operating temperatures are to high when it’s 105 degrees outside, $2000.00 for a leveling kit isn’t expensive, can’t figure out why I’ve got a check engine light on after putting a oily ass K&N filter in, asking 100 times if theirs a weight loss program for a 2022, what size tires can I cram up under it setting stock or leveled, do semi wheels and tires ride bad, asking what does this code mean, do I want weathertech mud flaps or this set that 4 times the cost, and the best one, all my engine lights are on, all I did was mash the fuel pedal till it went to 4000 and blew black smoke everywhere….
If you can avoid all that your good!

Feeling left out of the comic things going on THE Facebook groups.

That is quite the list!

I’m going 37’s like my last truck when I did a full Thuren Kings kit. Going with a full Carli Kings kit with their air ride package. Certainly isn’t cheap but the ride is amazing especially off road.

I’m still waiting on parts I ordered last November. I guess the wait time isn’t bugging me as much as most.

Working on one now with a full kelderman air ride front and rear. Trucks on 38’s and he wants to pull gooseneck trailers and it’s a nightmare. I’ve told the guy he has a toy not a work truck and if he needs a truck to work with to go buy one.

Yup this is why I said "relatively normal". There are definitely situations where trucks go to vendors for extended periods of time. Im also just referring to the build phase, shipping is an entirely different story.

Well, I’ve been gone for days out of town and found a surprise when I went in my wide hipped dually tonight to put in my weathertech mats - about an inch of water on the drivers side floor board!!! What the ……??? No water stains anywhere in the headliner, so it looks like it may be the windshield.

I called Mark Dodge and Aaron and Robert were immediately all over it. Bringing the truck back to MD in the morning at 0800 and dropping it off and picking up a loaner. They are going to water test everything and fix the leak, and pull all of the carpeting, etc to dry everything out so there’s no rust, mildew, or mold. They’ll probably have it next week, but it’s not their fault and they are bending over backwards to make it right!

It’s all good…is what it is!
UPDATE (8/24): I was starting to think I was going crazy, they could not find the leak. They put the truck on 18” blocks to simulate nose down like it was at the time of the leak, removed panels and headliner, and let water run over the entire truck for 2 hours - nothing from anything roof, rear glass, front glass, firewall, doors! But today
the leak has finally been found! It is at a body seam under the windshield on the lower drivers side. The question that remains is is it the seal of the windshield or the seal of the body seam? They are removing the windshield to figure out and reseal all of it. Only problem is if they break the windshield, it’s 5 days to get a new one in. Oh well, at least no more leaks!!!

Surely they can spare a loaner for all the trouble.

Definitely. I put about 70 miles on it yesterday and am aiming for 500 miles before I hitch up for my trip.
